The Ivy at Ellington is one of the latest additions to The Arbors Assisted Living Residential Communities family. Ellington was originally an agricultural community, but now it is known as a resort town because of its proximity to Crystal Lake. Our community offers 79 one and two-bedroom apartments, as well as Reflections, our specialized memory support environment. We are conveniently located at 123 West Road in Ellington, Connecticut. Our home-like environment provides residents with plenty of amenities to enjoy, like dining on local culinary favorites, participating in engaging and enriching social opportunities, and quality personal care services every day.

Assisted Living

For seniors who need some help with everyday tasks such as getting dressed, bathing, preparing meals and managing medications, assisted living is a smart option. This facility is also able to provide care plans that are tailored to an individual's specific needs, such as addressing poor nutrition. At The Arbors, we are dedicated to providing our residents with the highest quality of life possible. We achieve this through genuine care and comfort.

Memory Care

We know how tough it is to live with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, for the sufferer and their loved ones. It’s important that everyone stays connected, to feel the connection with the world around them.

Respite Care

The purpose of a respite or trial stay is to provide caregivers with a short break while also giving their loved one a new, safe, and social environment. Our Trial Stay option gives you the chance to experience our assisted living Communities without making a commitment. If your loved one is hesitant about assisted living and isn’t sure what to expect, our trial stays can also be beneficial.

Dining

We're proud to offer three delicious homemade meals each day, with healthy options, comfort foods and resident favorites. We believe that good meals are essential for maintaining health, quality of life and happiness. We believe in serving fresh, made-to-order meals for our students. The specialties at each Arbors location are a reflection of the tastes of the people who live there. The one thing that ties all of these meals together is the love and care that went into making them. Each dish was crafted with only the freshest ingredients available, including many locally-sourced, seasonal items. This makes for a truly unique and memorable dining experience.

They describe the staff as positive, helpful, and team players, and the environment as fun. The only complaint is that the use of sales force can be repetitive and time consuming. No advice to management was provided.

The residents are amazing and it is a great learning experience. Cons: Poor management, lack of communication, and favoritism. Advice to Management: Listen to your employees and be more open to communication.
