Trying to find a good place for my sister was not easy - but thanks to some wonderful resourceful people they guided me to the right new home for my sister and I am very happy. From the beginning of the process Tegan Dein, Manager at Avamere was extremely helpful, attentive to our needs and responded every email and text message I sent with precise information and excellent customer support. The day of admission she was there for us to help us do paperwork and get my sister situated. I felt a feeling of comfort, knowing my sister will be in a good place she can now call home. I want to thank Tegan for being such a great advocate and expressing her caring ways. This was not an easy transition, yet - she made sure we were taken care of. We appreciate you Tegan! As for Avamere, it is a clean place, they have many activities on site with different choices for every resident. It is a nice building with clean decor and courteous staff.
10/05/20 - checked my mom into Avamere at Cheyenne assisted living due to her dementia10-05-20 - Avamere lost my mom inside the building took them over 2 hours to call me. I went there and found my mama in 15 minutes10-07-20 - Avamere doctor calls me and say he thinks it would be safer to move my mom to another facility. Mind you this facility has already taken my mom entire pension check that she received 10-01-20 of 2,500 for her rent for the month of October. 10-7-20 - Avamere doctor sends me to check out a "safer" facility. I pull up and it's a regular home with people in there looking half dead already. I immediately left and said NO WAY WOULD YOU NE PLACING MY MOM THERE. 10-13-20 -Avamere sends me to another"safer facility samething but worst. This place I called elder abuse hotline when I left and against I told Avamere you must be crazy to think I would let you take my mom to a group home. Now I'm seeing what's going on. Avamere then has someone name Josh from (claremore) call me this same evening. Josh heard my cry and scheduled me an appointment with Villa Court Memory Care facility.i began to thank Josh and tell him that's all I wanted.10-14-20 - AVAMERE ASSIYED LIVING EVICTED MY MOM FROM THERE PLACE AND DROPPED HER OFF AND LEFT HER AT MOUNTAIN VIEW HOSPITAL, JUST LEFT MY MAMA THERE. THE PAPER WORK FROM THE PARAMEDICS SAY BECAUSE SHE REFUSED TO STAY IN BED. 10-15-20 - Still make it to appointment for memory care facility and in order from them to do any paperwork I had to come up with 1,500. I leave begging asking anyone and everyone for the 1,500 thinking my mom was going to be picked up from the hospital10-18-20 to wake up to this text from the new place : Good morning! I was wondering if you were able to come up with a plan as far as moms move-In costs (around $1100) so that we can have her discharged from the hospital and placed with us here at home. The hospital has called a couple of times over the weekend so I just wanted to touch base.Which means my mama been left at the hospital all this time and for no reason she was not sick to be dropped off at the emergency room. Avamere abandon my mom and left her. Will I was in the process. I have all the text and call and messages to prove everything that I have said above.... Great tour, engaged team. Tegan knows the residents by name and loves her community. Roxanne, the nurse was so kind to me upon my visit and made me feel right at home. Lunch was amazing and the chef Kristen introduced herself to me while I was dining.I’m a so excited to move into Avamere at Cheyenne. I can tell at they truly mean it when they say it’s ‘More than just a home.”
Avamere at Cheyenne is amazing place! We looked high and low for a place for our 84 yr old mom. Assisted living comes in all shapes and sizes and oh my gosh....so many different levels of care :oMy mom is somewhat independent but, now needs help with day to day tasks.I found Avamere to be a perfect fit for my mom. I immediately felt warm and fuzzy when I walked into the building. It has such a positive energy. The staff is kind, caring and very upbeat. The real test came when I brought "mom" to check it out. My mom felt the same. Fast forward, mom moved in a little over a week ago and to my amazement she loves it! She has made new friends and loves the daily activities. She says the food is very very good!I am overjoyed for her. She has regained her independence and dignity and most of all, I love that I can be her daughter again :)Thank you to all the staff at Avamere for making my moms move so easy and seamless! Thank you for the clear communication and guidance.Special thanks to Tegan!!! You are a very SPECIAL LADY, lady!
Tegan has taken my calls for a year and a half. She educated me on assisted living and most importantly what it’s like for elders and their families. She made us feel not alone. I shared everything she taught me with the family. Thank you Avemere for having Tegan there to help us ! We are finally moved in and still learning.
A great big thank you to Tegan and the entire team for helping stream line the move in process with Pawpaw. We had five places in mind, and Avamere came out on top. It was by far the most personal and welcoming place we’ve been to this week. Very happy with our choice, and I’m sure Pawpaw is too.
I wish I could have gave avamere a 0 star I use to work at this company as a medication aide if you want to keep your license/ certification you will not work here avamere has a now resident care coordinator Tierah who come from there activities department with no medical background to oversee the clinical department she makes numerous of med error and cover is up by putting it on the med tech as if she didn't know what was going on she use her power as a supervisor to buly the med tech and you talk to HR and the administrator about it and they do nothing about it the level of care that is not provided at this community it's disgusting I wouldn't put my fish there for them to take care of if you want your family to be taking care of this is not the place for them I'm happy that I got out of there when I did they are short stuff because of the RCC Tierah being a employee was good until Tierah become a supervisor she don't care about the resident I told her about a resident not feeling well and she did nothing the resident was sent to the hospital because of it the management excuses for her is that she is new as a supervisor but she has been there since January as a RCC but with the company in activity for over 1 year she basically runs that building WORST COMPANY EVER!!!!!!!
We recently moved mom into Avamere at Cheyenne. She absolutely loves it. Mom is participating in various activities such as, Bingo and exercise, and has made new friends. The facility is clean and updated. All the staff are pleasant and friendly. We are glad that mom is getting the help she needs to stay as independent as she can be. Tegan made the admission process much easier than it might have been if not for all her hard work. The whole family is so grateful we found Avamere at Cheyenne.
I got the opportunity to volunteer here. If and when it becomes necessary for me to live at an assisted living facility; this is the one I would go to. I have seen several of these places both here in Las Vegas and also a couple in California. This one "takes the prize". I was given a tour by the BOM (Business Office Manager) DeAnna and met many of the residents. They were all happy and seemed to enjoy living there. DeAnna was very professional but also showed some fun loving spirit. The decor is very welcoming and I enjoyed my visit there. I even got to play bingo with the residents while I was there. Good times.
Beautiful place for loved ones to feel at home and receive sincere quality care. I toured with Tegan on 3/17/21 and was very impressed!! The residents enjoyed a fun St. Patrick’s Day ☘️ party with all the trimmings I plan to move mom there, knowing she will feel like family.
Avamere is a great place for your love ones, The staff is very hands on. The place is clean and the staff goes above and beyond for you and your loved ones. I had a wonderful experience with dealing with Tegan she held my hand though out this whole process and made me feel like family I’m so happy I found this place for my loved one...
Thank the Lord for Tegan and the rest of the staff at Avamere! I was so sad when I had to make the decision to put my Mimi in assisted living. All the stories you see on the news really are scary. Right from the beginning Tegan and the rest of the staff made me and my Mimi feel right at home. I feel like Tegan will treat her as if she were her own Mimi.
Having worked in nursing homes in the past I have always said that would be the last place I would ever put a loved one. Unfortunately, after my Dad broke his hip at a 60+ singles dance last July, we had no choice but to get him someplace where he could focus more on recovering. My Dad is a grumpy old man and being immobile didn't help at all. Tegan was so comforting to our family and joked with my Dad a few times which helped lighten the mood and make things not so bad. Tegan was also very patient with our overbearing family members who never left her alone. She really went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a great experience at Avamere. (Even my grumpy old man.)
We are extremely grateful that our mother landed at Avamere. The location is kept clean, the residents are offered many activities, and most of all the staff is friendly and caring. We appreciate the fact that our mother is not looked at as just another number, but truly a member of the Avamere family.
I was so sad and scared to have to make this huge decision for the well being of my mother. She was extremely scared to have to uproot her entire life and make a change like this in her 80's. The team at Avamere at Cheyenne held our hands ever step of the way. From the first tour to the move-in was seamless. My anxiety settled the moment I stepped foot into the building. I will forever be grateful for the staff of this facility. Knowing this may be the last place my Mother will ever live is sad and scary. But the amount of love and compassion shown by all staff has lifted those fears. Thank you!!
I just wanted to drop a quick note to to say thank you to Tegan! The decision to move my father to assisted living wasn’t an easy one, but when we got to Avamere-Cheyenne, Tegan’s kind nature and compassion made me so comfortable and just reassured me that I made the right decision! The world needs more people like her! Grateful is an understatement!Kindest regards.Andrea Elizabeth Storage
