After researching & touring numerous assisted living facilities last year, I placed my mother in a large multi-million dollar newly renovated place. It showed nice but it was like a big factory. Earlier this year, I restarted my researching & touring, changing my criteria to smaller, more personal & intimate places. Homes as opposed to facilities. Anyone who knows me, knows I conduct my due diligence. This being one of my more important decisions, I took my time. I couldn't be more pleased with Ohana Senior Living. More importantly, Mom now considers this "home" & her caregivers "family". From the owners to the staff who care for Mom 24/7 including Desiree, George, & the rest of the Ohana, thank you so much! I feel a great sense of relief knowing Mom is well cared for.
My father has been at Ohana for the past several months. He has the type of dementia where his mood fluctuates between pleasant and cheerful to downright mean and agitated. He can be challenging to take care of, and one staff member in particular, Desiree, has the skillset to redirect his aggression and calm him down. Desiree is lighthearted, patient, good-humored and has extensive training in memory care and I feel comfortable knowing that she is caring for my dad. She brings laughter and cheer to the home and oftentimes will text videos of my dad enjoying himself, like my dad dancing to a Michael Jackson thriller video (he was seriously busting a move!). The other caregivers are also very kind and patient--Heather, Daphne, Kham, George and Jimmy. Placing your loved one in a care home is incredibly heart wrenching, but my mind is at ease knowing that the people caring for him have their hearts in the right place.
I was looking for a home for my mother at the start of COVID-19 in April 2020. The Ohana staff welcome my mother and helped to ease her transition into a new home. My mother suffered from Dementia and the staff & caretakers were trained in how to handle certain behavior, which eased her anxiety and panic attacks. The home was clean and daily activities were provided for the residents. My mother was very outgoing and loved to entertain herself and others through song and dance. Desiree Saxton was my mother's personal caretaker and new confidant. I am extremely thankful that my mother was able to spend her last days at the Ohana home while on hospice. I will never forget the peaceful setting and kind treatment my mother received.Thank you,Cheryl
As someone who has had several family members need assisted living care and end-of-life I would consider myself well educated on costs and good care for the elderly. I have to say that the people at Ohana are diamonds and worth their weight in gold! They have such heart for the residents and their families. And the food is yummy! For those of you on a budget this is a great place. Take a look and see for yourself. Highly recommended.
My auntie used to lived here. She passed away peacefully last month. This place is family oriented, they treat them not like a patient more like a family. They taking care of her with care and compassion. The staffs is caring and they accommodate the patient based on they need. Highly recommended this place for senior living.
My father was transferred to this facility from hospice. He passed after being there 2 days. The owners of the home refused to give me any refund on the month I paid for up front. I was not given a copy of their contract nor did I sign one before he was transferred there. The owners put on a show that they are caring people, but in reality they are just about the money. The decent thing to do as a human being and a business owner would have been to issue at least a partial refund.
My father was taken cared of very well by the staff of ohana senior living. He was there for the last 3 months of his life. The staff was very kind and loving towards my family and father. They have been the most helpful during these trying times and go above and beyond when it comes to caring for people.
