you could improve by increasing your ratio of staff to patient By listening to the patients family concerns and actually addressing them! By feeding them better food By improving cleanliness of rooms and hygiene practices. Examples: Cleanning bed pans after every use...washing hands between patients....cleaning residents better. the list goes on. making sure Patients with oxygen have it on at all times and arent being made to lie flat when they have breathing problems. I could go on and on... Its a sin what ive witnessd.. All homes can do much better f or our elderly!!!!
I am a CNA at Manchester manor now left BC of relocating to Waterbury. Worked at another facility. Found other facility not anything compared to Manchester manor i commute daily from waterbury. Its worth it the people are kind. And caring. Myself and my co workers do our very best for our patients we aren't perfect. But we are. Very very good the nurses especially are so. Attentive on all units but the sub acute particularly and the therapy is excellent. Highly recommend it
I worked here as a CNA for 5 years a long time ago (I believe from around 1989 to 1995ish) I have nothing but great memories of this facility. I still fondly remember all of the residents I cared for and their names after all these years! I loved to be a caregiver there; it was equally rewarding to me because both the patients and their families made me feel like I was a part of theirs! It is the residents and their families who made it easy for me to give superior care. Anyway, Manchester Manor still holds a very special place in my heart to this day! (Since, I have lived in Texas, Arizona and now I'm in Florida so no one put me up to this! Haha) I remember the house dog Mannie & how Pearl looked after him!
Owners of company are great to work for. They strive for excellence and although not all clients may feel they have received excellent service, I have spoken to families that have had completely positive experiences. The staff here works very hard and cannot be compensated enough for the compassion they show toward patients and their families. Thank you, Manchester Manor!
My mother-in-law was at Manchester for a very long time before she passed. I cannot thank them enough for how they helped her and all of us in what we all know is a very difficult time as our loved ones need more professional care than could be provided at home and then as they transition. The nurses, therapists, staff, and all were so incredibly wonderful with her and always had such great, positive attitudes. They are very professional, kind, very efficient in handling all the various issues that arose - and there were many -- from the big ones to even the smallest. There was delightful entertainment and activities for them, very good meals and she so enjoyed being in their outdoor patios when the weather was good. We were always amazed at how fresh and clean the air was inside, never any unpleasant odors and generally what a great job they do on the quality of their care and maintenance. We cannot thank them enough.
Absolute worst! Horrible service! One of THE worst facilities I have experienced! There are a few good people that work there, but they seem as rare as diamonds. The majority of the staff that I encountered were jaded, many of them rude and completely uncaring. Not everyone is cut out to do the job they have to do...it is a difficult one to be sure! I know that I could not do it. You need to have a special calling to work at a facility like this...Manchester Manor seems to have acquired an inordinate number of those who should not be working in this field.
They are one other the very few nursing homes that you walk into and don't smell but this one doesn't smell at all. The staff is wonderful and take very good care of my mother. Yes their is one of the nurses that I don't like but as long as my mom likes her that's all that matters. The food is awesome and have a delightful menu. I was at a nursing home in Vernon and that was a dump. I would recommend this place to everyone.
Unless you want your loved one abandoned for 12+ hours with their call remote tucked above them so they can't reach it which then causes them to get bed sores and fungal infections do not send them here. The employees are uncivilized subhumans who basically chased me to my car when I went to pick up my grandmothers stuff then called the police and falsely accused me of putting my hands on them. Manchester Manor and anyone associated with it cannot be trusted.
My mother was under "care" at Manchester Manor for less than 48 hours and developed up a terrible fungal rash from being left wet as well as a wound on her buttocks that the staff at St. Francis believes is from being left on a bed pan for too long. If you have a loved one there, be vigilant. If I hadn't checked myself, I would not have known that my mother was absolutely soaked in urine from the waist down when I arrived today. When I asked for help in getting her cleaned up the staff was barely civil, as if it weren't part of standard care. Manchester Manor is a crap fest, do not trust them.
Mom wanted to go back to Manchester Manor because she had been there a couple of years ago. Things have changed there since the last time she was there. Menu choices have changed a lot. She had a Chicken burger the other night. It looked like bland Spam. The dining room staff told her they didn't have Tomato soup. So I went home and got mom some. in the 10 minutes i was gone they found a bowl of it. Nice to know after the fact. Mom says some in the P.T department are very nice but there is one there who says she isn't trying hard enough and keeps pushing her to exhaustion. Jennifer in the Social worker department was talking to me and within 15 minutes she was all like "What is your moms' Financial situation." Yeah, I remember them from before. "SHOW ME THE MONEY!" Staff is slow to respond to Mom wanting to go back to bed She wanted to put herself to bed as PT exhausted her to the limit I told her not to as she might fall and be worse off. She doesn't see why for Breakfast and Lunch she can eat in her room but for dinner they want her to go to the dining room. She prefers it. Yeah it's all about the money Jennifer !
Do not, do not, I beg you, do not put your family members in here. My grandmother was there for 36 HOURS that’s it! And she has to be readmitted into the hospital due to being left on a bed pan too long causing a sore and a fungal infection from then being left in a puddle of piss. When we went to get her stuff the “employees” literally tried to physically attack me for stating pure facts. They are neglectful and murderous. I wouldn’t even put my evil step mother in here.
While my father in law seemed to get good enough care we will never be sure as there is absolutely no communication at this facility. Not only do they not communicate with the family, they don’t communicate between themselves. No one seems to know what is going on. Waited to 2 1/2 weeks just to get a meeting to find out what their plan of care was. How do you not have a plan to share from the beginning???? Discharge day now we couldn’t go to his room??? They will discharge him in the main entrance??? Seems like HIPPA laws aren’t being followed when anyone walking by can hear all his medical issues. I would not recommend this place if you are like us and want to know what is going on with your loved ones care.
They don’t care. My dad caught covid from their facility and it killed him. They don’t care. Even had the gaul to send a sympathy card. Sorry your dad died and we killed him here’s a card! Call to compliain and sorry im the weekend superyand its bot my fault. F this place! Find a reputable place to place you loved one. They don’t care
For personal experience I would say the staff can be very nice to your face an behind your back talk about you. Form experience you’re not allowed to voice your concerns to your supervisor about patient safety because on there rules and regulation it’s insubordination and it’s unprofessional to the work facility and you’re terminated effective immediately.
