I am writing this review for my dear sweet mama and our family. I moved mom to Ivy Place in February 2019 never expecting her to make it to her 90 th birthday in June. Not only did she make her 90th, she lived another 5 months. During this time she was loved and cared for by the staff at Ivy Place as if she were their own mother or grandmother. She truly felt that love from them and that gave our family peace when we were not there. She laughed a lot and made them giggle with her as she was quite full of it. She loved her cheery room and never missed a meal which she enjoyed always. The confidence I have in this wonderful care facility made moving my father there with mom much easier and they helped tremendously with that transition which I dreaded. I read in a previous review about uncleanliness and other negative comments. I’m not sure how a one time visitor could promote a review like that. Nothing could be further from the truth. It is very clean and feels like home when we walk in. The front porch looking onto a well kept yard was moms favorite place to sit watching people walking their dogs or pushing strollers past. I feel strongly enough about Ivy Place and my review that I would happily talk in person to anyone wanting to know anything more from a residents family and the care they received. I will forever be thankful. Beri Bruce
Homey. In a great neighborhood. Some really great, caring staff. But also depressing, run down and really expensive for what you get out of it. Doesn't seem like they put back into the facility or resources as much as they should be. Nice to have the doctors, nurses and therapists come to you though.
I almost never leave negative reviews but feel others NEED to be warned. If I could give this place no stars I would, it doesn't even deserve one star. This "facility" was recommended by a dear friend of mine. I have been looking for a place for my mom who has dementia for the past few months. My friend said this is one of the best places in town and was in a great location. I was actually excited, but that was before I stopped in for a tour. The red head "Administrator" I assume was extremely rude. She was very unprofessional and unkept. Not to mention she kept grinding her teeth like a drug user. A caregiver with dark hair and glasses reeked like marijuana. The whole house smelled like poop, pot, and cheap air freshener. There was no activities going on. I was seriously appalled of the conditions of this place. It was very embarrassing and I would rather eat broken glass than place my vulnerable mother in a place like this. So, Please take heed and think of taking your loved ones elsewhere instead of Ivy house. These people unprofessional, negligent, and this "facility" although located in the historic North End is nothing more than a SAD is a joke.
