The Good Samaritan Society has generally positive reviews from employees. They appreciate the flexible schedule, willing to listen to employees, good benefits, and supportive system from the National Campus. Employees also enjoy the mission and culture of compassion. However, there are some cons such as pay being negligible compared to other companies, no official PTO, short staffing, long hours, poor management, and lack of corporate support. My mom had to go into a rehab facility after a hospital stay. Being from out of town, and having to make a decision quickly, we chose this one because it was closer to family. The facility is older, but they have cared for it well. Her room was spacious, with a chair, couch and a full size bed, dresser, and endtable, and still room to spare. Also had a private bath. The room was clean and I didn't notice any unusual or unclean odors. The place did not smell like a hospital, but it also did not smell like an old folks home, although it is part of a nursing home. The staff were friendly, and helpful, however, mom had some issues with being here. She didn't' feel they were as attentive as she wanted them to be. It took them 5 minutes or more to answer the call button. I did learn a thing or two. If you need help with regard to your parent's care, ask for the social worker. Also, regardless of where you go, make sure there is another adult there to help the person receive the care. Because they don't always remember stuff.
This place is extremely bad! Beginning with not enough staff to take care of the residents. Pretty bad when there is one cna on the floor and they are transferring residents illegally with only one person. I know transfers with a lift is supposed to be two people. Not only that, when they had covid in the building they had staff transferring back and forth from the positive residents to the ones that were not positive. This place is not taking care of their residents the way they should be, I would not out my family member somewhere that isn't staffed properly. Thank you for reading!
My uncle was in the nursing home for several years. He was in an accident as a young adult and was placed in this home when he was older and needed more care. To say this place went above and beyond for several years caring for him would be an understatement. When he passed away 3 years ago, they truly acted and felt like they lost a part of their family. It wasn't just a house, the made him feel at home as if they were his family. I would recommend them to anyone needing a safe space for their loved ones.
No one ever wants to be in the position of choosing a nursing home for themselves or their loved one, but if you find yourself facing this difficult decision, Good Samaritan should be your top choice. This building isn’t fancy, shiny or brand new, but once inside you are met with warmth, comfort, kindness and dedicated staff who are ready to walk you through the challenges that come with this season of life. This facility has a family feel and the warmth of home and not a medical setting. Residents are treated with dignity, respect and given the utmost care.
Update, 3 years later. The review below was when my Mom was in another facility , ended up in the hospital and required rehab. Since then, she ended up in the hospital again and this time, we knew that it was time to move her. With dementia, it was a very difficult decision and in hindsight, we're so glad that we did.If you're reading this review, you're probably looking for care for a loved one, let me share with you what we learned over the past 6 years. When Mom needed more help than we could provide, we started looking for a care facility that would offer part time assistance, with the knowledge that this would turn into full time care, so we started touring facilities close to our home. Problem was that we were looking for all the wrong attributes, we were shopping for a home and not a care facility, granite, stainless, new and fancy was what we thought that we wanted. You know, only the best for our Mom.Here's what we should have been looking for: caring staff that doesn't turn over. Having staff turn over is very difficult on the residents, a constant state of flux, is very disruptive. Let's face it, the job is tough and often thankless, Good Sam has found a team that has stayed together for a very long time. When Mom went back the second time, the staff remembered her and that really helped her settle in. Good Sam has always treated our Mom with love and respect, they make decisions based on what's in the best interest of her well-being, not what the corporate check box tells them to do. And finally, all of the experience and a desire to care for their clients has really resonated during the COVID-19 pandemic, they go through great lengths to make sure everyone is safe and Good Sam staff bends over backwards to make sure that you can communicate with your loved ones, including hosting video conferencing. If you work for Good Sam, know that you are our heroes and we appreciate the incredible work that you do.2017The fine caring people at Good Samaritan look such care for my Mother that they had her back on her feet in short order. They are experts and deeply care for their customers. Highly recommend! Thank you GS for all that you did for our family, we appreciate you all.
I called to file a complaint about almost being run over by a van that had the same logo as this location. Was treated very rudely by who ever answered the phone. She argued with me and hung up... So much for Christian principles. apparently rudeness is a Christian principle.
Horrible staff with horrible cares that hide behind Christian values. I will never let my family stay there, no matter how bad it is elsewhere you'll never find a worst home in the treasure valley. Pretty on the outside but truly no morals when it comes to their nursing staff.
