My sisters dementia got to the point where she could not live alone any more. She has now been in Canton Nursing Center for a little over a year. She really likes it a lot and says the food is great. I've noticed she's gained a few pounds. She is actually happier there than she was living alone. She now eats rights and gets her meds when she needs them. She says she has lots of friends and does not get lonely anymore. I did not know she got lonely. The employees are hard working and they really like their job. I am not worried about my sister at all. *** if you have someone with a coming need, do not wait, as it can take a while to get into these nursing centers. ***
We have experience with a few of these facilities in the past few years and Canton Nursing is hands down the very best.My mother fell and broke her leg and at 83 years old recovering can be a challenge. We closely checked many inpatient rehab facilities and landed here...luckily. This is truly a remarkable place!! The staff is caring, nurturing and completely engaged with the patients and their recovery. Communication is always open and any minor concerns we had were addressed immediately. I would not hesitate to send her back if needed.
My husband was in the hospital for 103 days and then moved to Canton Nursing and Rehab for rehab services. The nursing staff was excellent and the Administrative staff went out of their way to help in any way. I would recommend this facility to anyone needing these services.
Over medicated our loved one, when asked not to give him a certain pill, Im sure they continued. Claimed he had a heart attack, but in my heart I know better. This facility smells like death... animals (pets of caregivers) running around in everyone's rooms... (gross) and the communication alone is non existant. Stay away.
My person was there last week for respite care so I could have a break. I have been working 120+ hours per week for almost 2 and a half years..They never got him out of the bed.He had 2 wet diapers on at the same time with 2 wet bedpads underneath him,it had soaked through clear to the mattress. They mismanaged his medication so he was sedated all the time, did not bother to read my notes or the hospice nurses notes on his medication. We walked in there no problem, when I picked him up he was unable to able to even stand on his own.. I don't know who manages this place but I'm truly ashamed of them for allowing people to be treated like this. I would not recommend this place to anyone If you care at all about them.
They heavily overmedicated my mother while she stayed there after knee surgery. They couldn't even keep straight the number of narcotics they were giving her and put her into an altered mental state. They then told the hospital that myMother has Dementia, which she does not. She had to be admitted early to the hospital for a second knee surgery, due to a fall that happened at Canton Nursing after her first surgery, which the nurses had no notes of happening. They do not know or communicate what is going on with the patients. Do not leave your family members there.
