I toured many facilities for independent living for my mom before happily choosing Edgehill. It's true you do have to plop down some cash around 565,00 depending what apt you choose . The upside of that is better quality in both food and service and programs. The residents are upscale and hip . I actually leave with a smile on my face usually not the case when you visit other facilities. The brunches pre Covid are amazing with unlimited mimosas even though my 93 year old mom never has more than one. My mom loves it there and that's the most important thing. From Albert who's like a personal concierge eager to help to Gaye and all the people in nursing to Jessica and others in food service are amazing. Peace of mind that's she's well taken care of.
My step mom has lived here for about seven years, and generally, Edgehill is fine. But I witnessed a very disturbing interaction with another resident. While at the gym today, a very infirmed man had trouble and was in pain to the point of nearly fainting. I asked if he needed help since he could barely stand even with a walker. I looked around the Ground floor for help, but there was no one.I recommended that he press his emergency pendent, which he did.No one came. After five minutes, still no one came.More time passed. Still no one.I decided to go upstairs to the main desk to say someone needed help in the gym. They said they were aware of the emergency call but could not locate him.I then went downstairs and noticed a woman had finally arrived. However, she was rude, and ignored his request for a wheelchair, and began for forcefully push him backwards on his walker. When he mentioned his frustration about not being found after pushing the pendent, she just responded, "I'm here now." I said she arrived only because of me notifying the front desk, and she again slightly angrily repeated her statement.I was appalled at her attitude, but more importantly, her ignoring his request for a wheelchair, which he clearly needed. I went upstairs to reflect what I witnessed and to complain. I was then introduced to a manager. I said that I would hate to have my 84 year old mother treated this way if she had an emergency.
Racist only cater to ppl who have money .. from staff to residence very clean but aS soon as you walk in everyone's all fake staring at you asking so many questions old elevator for such a biG place nurses are rude of you don't have any business going there don't and if you have a elderly person please send elsewhere it's a fake facade
My husband and I moved to Edgehill almost 4 years ago and we couldn't be happier. The staff is so caring and attentive to our needs. The lectures, concerts, and discussion groups keep us very entertained and dinner with friends in the dining room keeps us connected! Beautiful grounds for walking, set close to the city of Stamford and the town of Greenwich, and a train ride 45 minutes into New York City, provide a perfect location.
My husband and I moved to Edgehill three years ago. We felt it was one of our best decisions especially when my husband needed medical care. This is a very special place with unbelievable care. It starts at the top with the CEO and trickles down to the staff and residents. People call each other by name so that you feel safe and secure. After cooking for a family of 8 I really enjoy food. t is too delicious to be true . I have also enjoyed exercising in the pool and walking through the woods. The residents are eager to learn and participate.Activities abound wether on Zoom or in person . The days are filled with interesting speakers and activities. I enjoy the bridge, and lectures. If you ever feel lonely you can just walk to the mailbox and chat with folks along the way. Don't miss out . It is the place to beJeanne Eckrich ( LCSW. )
My husband Charles just returned from rehab from the skilled nursing unit at Edgehill and we we’re very satisfied with his recovery while there. He was given PT to strengthen his legs for walking and the team did a good job. My goal was to have him leave without relying on a wheelchair and because of the therapy he received, he was discharged using just a walker. The combination of aids, nurses, and dining staff made for a quick recovery. The team management did a good job organizing his daily routine and was on top of his care. Being a resident at Edgehill allowed me to develop a relationship with Serena, (the Customer Service Navigator) prior to my husband going to Skilled Nursing. The attention she gave us was very much appreciated. I would highly recommend going there for rehab!
Beautiful community! Exceptional staff and top notch services. The grounds are well maintained and the interior of the building is pristine and welcoming, where cozy seating arrangements makes it an ideal place to reside and mingle with residents. Every room is well appointed and welcoming.
I've been working part-time as a presenter at Edgehill for almost two years now, and I have to say, all the staff members I've had the pleasure of working with are kind, compassionate, and very good at their jobs. The residents seem to be quite happy with residing at Edgehill, with all it has to offer.
I moved to Edgehill 2 years ago (from Greenwich)... BEST decision ever! They cook for you, clean for you and do your laundry... what more could a person want! Plus absolutely no house to worry about in the storms. The management and staff have taken wonderful care of us during this past year filled with universal COVID challenges. We have outstanding activities and entertainment available, lots of interesting neighbors to spend time with, yet it is easy to continue my full outside life. I also spent two wonderful post-op periods upstairs in Skilled Nursing and felt like I was in a spa retreat!
Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would spend my golden years in congregate living but when my late husband kept falling we closed the door on our local home and moved into a sunny apartment at Edgehill. We found a coterie of welcoming residents and staff who extended warm invitations to meals, varied activities and all sorts of parties. In finding a new home we had also found an extension to our families. When other climes or great grandchildren beckon I lock my door and leave, knowing that my home here will be cared for and I will always be welcomed back with “We missed you.”Joan C.
I've been at Edgehill for two years after having lived in Darien for most of my life. I have a variety of terrific new friends and I love my apartment. It feels like home. Edgehill is well run with good management and a wonderful and caring staff. It's in a great location-near a beautiful beach and convenient to both downtown Greenwich, Stamford and Old Greenwich where I go to the post office, drug store, grocery store, bank, etc.. It's also handy to Darien where I keep up with my old friends! How's' that for a testimonial!!
