3.12 out of 5 stars. Based on 209 reviews
Overall, employees have positive things to say about working for Integral Senior Living. They appreciate the great people that really care, the free food, the flexible scheduling, the good pay and benefits, and the amazing culture. They also appreciate the good local employees, the lovely coworkers, and the meaningful work. However, there are some areas of improvement such as communication, corporate support, and better pay and benefits. Advice to management includes investing in a modern ERP, providing self-serve options through technology, listening to employees, and paying more to their EDs.By clicking "Get Exact Costs", you agree to our Partner's Terms of Use. Arbor Village at Hill crest has been under new ownership and management. The director is the former director of Overland Court Senior living. He is a wonderful director, many of his staff cried and wanted to go with him when he decided to leave Overland Court and go to Arbor Village "to turn this place around". The management company is now ISL and they took over Arbor Village at Hill Crest in May of 2019. Jim has been there since May 2019 and had a lot of problems to work through. I am happy to say, it has greatly improved. It still has a ways to go, but it is so much better than when he stepped on board to captain the ship. He now has key people in place as his department heads and everybody is doing their jobs now under his direction. He has weeded out some of the residents who did not belong there who needed a higher level of care, and eliminated employees who were not performing their jobs. He has raised the quality of this place ten fold. The residents said the Christmas party was the best one they have ever had. The activities director is the best most positive person I know. The cook is making wonderful, delicious, and nutritious foods for the residents now. I urge you to check things out now. It has made a complete turn around under Jim's management.
Sadly I have to update- and downgrade- my rating. I still think this is a great place in many ways- see my previous review for that stuff. But other things are of concern. The worst is the medical care and mixups, right hand not knowing what the left had is doing. Underqualified people administering reckless care. MEDICATION MIXUPS/medication not ordered in time, so resident goes without for days! This happened multiple times. Alarming and really needs to be cleaned up. I think they are making an effort, so I will upgrade again if I feel they have corrected the problem.Next is staff turnover because it seems like management at some level does not value continuity or maybe also just doesn't value their staff. I saw many beloved, long-term employees let go. TONS of turnover. This isn't good- you want the staff to know your loved one and for your loved one to have relationships with the staff.Next is lack of sufficient staff for the small help your loved one needs because they can't bend or put things on high shelves, etc. Staff well intended but not enough to go around. Requests made for help over and over.COULD BE SUCH A GREAT PLACE. Frustrating.
My Mom is a current resident here and we are in the process of finding her a better place to live. She's been at Hillcrest for a year and a half and in that time they've gone through 4 directors, countless nurses, countless med techs, and an entirely new maintenance and kitchen staff. Anyone that is of good quality as an employee and really cares about the patients leaves after just a month or two to go to better employers. This is because they cut way back on hours and benefits for their med techs so they now don't offer insurance or benefits to employees and severely under-staff the shifts to the point where med techs aren't caring for patients properly because they are frustrated and running themselves ragged. The food they offer started out pretty good but again, due to cutting costs, they switched the food options to something very bland and they have absolutely no accommodations for anyone with dietary restrictions including not offering anything different for diabetics. During the course of my Mom's time here she has had to watch everything she is given like a hawk because the med techs don't care enough and don't pay enough attention to even do their one job, dispensing her medication, correctly. My Mom has ended up in the hospital on two separate occasions for preventable reasons such as being given too much medication and not being brought a meal which is kind of important for a diabetic. I can't even imagine what happens to the residents that aren't lucid enough to notice their mistakes. Then you add on the horrible "announcement" system they force the residents to blare through their apartments multiple times a day, the people they accept that really belong in memory care or skilled nursing, other residents they allow to dominate meal times with their negativity and outlandish behavior, an extra charge if you want to have your meal in your room instead of being subjected to that, the exorbitant pricing for the crappy service rendered, and it just keeps getting worse. The ONLY thing about this place that has been consistent and good is the bus driver and transportation they offer for medical appointments. The driver is always friendly and respectful and makes sure he's taking care of the residents in his care fully. The facility itself is nice, her apartment is nice, her view of the courtyard is great and the location is very convenient for us but none of that will make us stay at this point. My Mom no longer trusts these people with her care and that's the most important thing when it comes to assisted living. Do not subject yourself or your parent to this dumpster fire they pass off as assisted living. You'd be putting your life, or your parents' lives, in the hands of disgruntled, minimum wage employees.
I moved here in April because I knew some of the people that worked there and knew it was a good fit for me. We have the same problems due to staffing and the issues surrounded by COVID like other places but they are trying to alleviate the problem. I have a beautiful room, a beautiful patio, and lots to do with fun activities! It's a great place to live!
The atmosphere here at Arbor Village is so pleasant, The Residents make my day every day! My co-workers from the management team and down are the best. I truly really do enjoy working here at Arbor Village. If you are looking for a place to live or work come here you will be truly happy that you did!
First off I'd like to start by saying the facility did not have any horrible odors it smelt actually pretty wonderful all the residents seemed happy and we're really clean and the staff all seem to really enjoy their job and the executive administrator Jim was really pleasant to talk to and seemed to be on top of everything I would really recommend this place thank you
New management is better I guess. Rooms are good size. Location is nice and grounds. Rooms need remodel carpet replaced. 1,000$$ community fee which is non refundable!! Bigger facility which means your loved one will wait their turn for care more. I am just glad my father was able to be fairly independent since it does take a lot of time to get a staff member. And instead of trying to help his complex behavior and personality they evicted him! He was there about 11months. I would recommend a smaller facility or home health!! For every elderly adult!! And some of the reviews that are good are from staff members.
This place is not a place you want your loved one to spend their last daysMy mom went without breakfast a few times and it’s not the inexperienced girls fault it management. They hire young girl that really care but are under such a stressed load of patients and then get yelled at by the same managers because these girls are not given time to do a loving job.Management needs to be trained that it’s not about the money it’s about love and peace in the last days of a human beings life.
Having had visited other assisted living facilities, I chose Hillcrest to be the place my mom can call her new home. Walking into an upbeat friendly environment I knew my mom would feel safe and secured. Her second week in she was very happy with the decision and the transition from her old home to her new home has been quite easy because how the staff handled her transition into the facility.
My aunt stayed here for a long time before she passed & this facility has amazing staff and take such good care of the residents without question! If you are looking for a place of residency for your loved one you should definitely take this facility into consideration. Everyone has always been so friendly & really make you feel at home & with calming, reassuring atmosphere!
This place is a wonderful home to not only residents, but family and friends. My grandma lives there, and we havent had any reason to complain. The staff is great, goes above and beyond to care for her needs. They make it feel just like home, we love it. The facility itself is well kept, very clean, environment is healthy. The activity director provides many funfilled trips to different places and activities for my grandmother to do, she loves her bingo...Id advise this place to everyone!!!
