Waveny provided two wonderful caregivers for my husband during his illness. They are two extraordinary people, one a physical therapist and the other an RN. Both are gifted in their fields and dedicated to their patients. They are such nice people too, that we so looked forward to their visits. When my husband recovered we were thrilled, but it was sad to say good bye to these two fine professionals.
Thank you for the tour of this special community. During our visit, a few of the residence offered some unsolicited, helpful comments, expressing their enthusiasm for living at The Inn. It appears to be a welcoming, nourishing, supportive, safe, living alternative, providing a host of in house programs with easy access to town activities and services.
Love their adult day program and memory care community. A continuum of care you can trust and feel great about placing a loved one. I worked personally with their skilled nursing team as well and they always do their best to serve their patients and families while preserving quality of life.
I recently completed my work with the Waveny LifeCare team. I felt so lucky to be in the care of such consummate professionals. The nursing care was thorough and Erin, helped me adjust to medication changes and the bumps in the road that were bound to happen. Physical therapy through Wendy's exceptional guidance allowed me to regain my strength and begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Cerissa, as the social worker, was there to help me set goals and provided encouragement to me in the process. My recovery I attribute to the kindness and generosity of spirit that these women shared with me and my husband.
At 100 I fell and broke my hip I went to a rehab in Wilton and it was horrible (Waveny didn’t have a bed) we had to get me out of that rehab and back home and my family called Waveny. The came right over and went through everything and really helped my family who were very stressed out. I had Goesta Schlegel as my OT and Wendy Boller as my PT they were both amazing!! They both are so caring and kind and made us feel so comfortable. And because of those two I’m walking on my own and doing most things in my home. I can’t say enough about them and me and my family thank them so much for all they had done. I would use Waveny again in a heart beat to come to my house for PT and OT .
My mother-in-law had the good fortune to move into Waveny a year ago and it has been a wonderful experience. The entire staff is caring, considerate and shows respect and concern for the residents. The food is appetizing and always plentiful. There are many activities to keep the residents stimulated and engaged. The community is very clean, well run, and beautifully decorated with plantings and flowers inside and outside. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Most importantly, my mother-in-law is very happy living at Waveny!
The Inn at Waveny has been simply home to Mom and our whole family for the last 3 yrs!The entire team is caring, friendly, trustworthy and all around excellent at their commitment with the Waveny residents. The Inn is always clean full of smiles and things to do or enjoy together or alone. We feel extremely fortunate to be part of the Waveny Life Care Network and highly recommend seeing if its the right fit for your loved ones.
From 1993 to 2004, I had two family members at Waveny for a total of 16 years. It is the most wonderful place and the staff became family to me. I went back today to visit a friend and meet some wonderful staff members who I remembered and they remembered me and my family. What an amazing place! Great to see it is still the place I remember!!
I am so thankful that my mother lives in a community filled with caring, compassionate, professional and dedicated staff members. In addition, the residents at Waveny Life Care greatly benefit from the personal attention and care that is evident in every aspect of their daily lives. When you walk in, you see a consistent effort from the staff to continuously interact and engage with residents through activities, conversation, and music. I always trust that my mother has the best care and most importantly, she is treated with respect, warmth and dignity. The facility is beautiful and welcoming, reflected in the people that live and work there.
Waveny has been truly a godsend for my brother Gary. I say this based upon our experiences with the other two assisted living facilities where Gary has spent the last decade. All of these facilities were highly regarded and rated, but none came close to Waveny in terms of care and quality of life. The Waveny staff is truly its greatest strength. With patience and caring they have enabled Gary once more to socialize more easily and even to enjoy telling his corny jokes one more. Waveny is a very special place. We are so happy we were able to find a place for Gary there.
I arrived at Waveny 30 days after suffering a hemorrhagic stroke in Florida and just as Covid 19 was starting to ramp up. I was in need of physical, occupational and speech therapy. Because of Covid 19, coming from a Florida hospital required that I go into isolation for my first 14 days. The professionals at Waveny found ways to provide my various therapies under unusual circumstances and I thrived because of what they were able to do. I continue to make gains today, 17 months later, because the people at Waveny helped me to believe that I would get better with hard work and a relentlessly positive attitude. I believe that to this day. Thanks Waveny
After one month in a hospital post-stroke Waveny was a breath of fresh air for the next month of recovery. The rehab was exemplary and it prepared my husband well for coming home. The setting, care, friendliness and A+ team contributed to a very positive experience. As his caregiver I did a great deal of research and exploration looking for the perfect spot and Waveny quickly bubbled to the top of my list. It checked all the boxes!
I have had personal and professional interactions & experiences with the Waveny LifeCare Network for well over twenty years; going back to when it was the Waveny Care Center. I have had patients that became residents there, & others who benefited from their day programs, care coordination, & rehabilitation services. I have worked collaboratively with their staff from many departments.Their Village was a model of innovation for the care of people with dementia & other cognitive disorders when it opened, & it continues to be so today. Their long term care model was also exemplary, & in the facility where I served as Director of Nursing & then Administrator for nearly 15 years, we recognized Waveny as a model worthy of duplicating. They welcomed members of my Board & staff, & openly shared their successes & their challenges, & how they mitigated them. The Town of New Canaan has long been a supporter of this facility, which is one of their crown jewels.Providing quality care, by caring & compassionate staff, all in beautiful surroundings, is a hallmark of Waveny, where the residents there are important community members to the townfolk. It is an excellent option for personalized quality care.Dr. Stephanie Paulmeno, DNP, MS, RN, NHA, CCM, CPH, CDP
