Community Insights
This detailed information was obtained directly from the Director of Sales & Marketing at The Village At Northrise - Morningside via email on Oct. 30, 2023.
Overview of Professional Staff and Training
Our staff in Morningside consists of several CNAs, and Certified Caregivers that provide assistance to our residents. We also have an RN onsite 5 days a week, 12 hours per day. The building director is a LPN who's on call 24 hours. I'm not familiar with the training process, but I know that all staff go through background checks and fingerprinting.
Safety and Well-being Measures
Our residents are all issued a pendant to wear around their neck which can be used to call internally to our nursing staff. They also have a help button in the bathroom by their showers. Our campus is completely surrounded by a fence, and the gate and front door are locked at night. Staff are onsite 24 hours as well.
Transition Support Services
We provide a handbook of information, and staff and fellow residents are always there to help people transition.
Transportation Services
Yes, we provide free transportation to all medical and dental appointments. We just require at least 48 hours notice to coordinate.
Dining Experience
All meals are made in the Morningside kitchen. 3 meals per day, 7 days a week are included in the rent cost. There are always two entree choices, as well as two veggie and starch choices as well. We also feature a Bistro menu of about 5 or 6 always available choices if the resident doesn't care for the entrees.
Resident Complaints and Issues
Any issues or complaints would go through Bonnie Zeiler, the building's director. She can then address them in an appropriate manner.
Cost of Living
We currently have three one-bedroom apartments available, and they go for $4,100 per month. This covers room and board, 3 meals a day, free medical transportation, all utilities, cable & wifi, and weekly housekeeping and laundry. Any additional assistance needed would be determined by our leveling, which is an additional $250 per level, up to four levels.
Communication with Residents' Families
Any noticeable changes in the residents' well-being are immediately communicated to the residents' family, particularly their listed emergency contact and/or power of attorney. Our staff also assesses each resident about once every six months to make sure there's been no drastic change in their health.
Short-term or Respite Stays
Respite for a one-bedroom is $130/day. We require a 3 day minimum, max 30 days.
Pet Policy
Yes, dogs and cats are allowed. Dogs should be about 20 lbs or less, well behaved, and current on vaccinations. there is a $250 pet deposit on move-in, and an additional $50/month.
Medicaid Patients and Availability
We currently have a waiting list for Medicaid patients to get into our studio apartments. At the moment, I have 3 one bedroom apartments open.
