    Overall Ratings

Casa Del Sol Center, a distinguished nursing home, prides itself on its achievements across various domains. Positioned in the top half of facilities regarding the overall rating, it exceeds not just the state average but has managed to set a slightly higher benchmark. This extends to its commendable health inspection rating as well, placing it amongst the top half of facilities, once again supplanting the state average. More so, it boasts of its 4-star quality rating, the second highest possible score, placing it within the upper echelons of the state's nursing homes for quality rating and, unsurprisingly, exceeding the state average.

    Staff Ratings

Casa Del Sol Center, a reputable nursing home, prides itself in providing excellent care through nursing aid staffing hours. Currently, it stands in the top 50% of facilities in that respect, with 2.26 nursing aid staffing hours per resident per day as compared to the state's average of 2.2. However, the center falls into the bottom 30% in terms of LPN staffing hours per resident per day, providing only 0.64 hours which is slightly below the state's average of 0.67. Similarly, in terms of RN staffing hours per resident per day, Casa Del Sol finds itself in the lower half of facilities, offering 0.51 hours versus the state's higher average of 0.62. The center faces similar challenges with licensed staffing hours, landing in the bottom 20% of facilities by providing just 1.15 hours per resident per day against the state average of 1.28. On a brighter note, Casa Del Sol stands in the top 30% of facilities when it comes to physical therapist staffing hours, providing an impressive 0.1 hours per resident per day, surpassing the state's average of 0.08.

    Covid Data

The Casa Del Sol Center is a distinguished nursing home known for its impressive vaccination rates. With a resident vaccination rate of 96.5%, the center ranks in the top 10% of all facilities, dwarfing the state average of 60.2%. This means that nearly all of the center's residents are up to date with their latest vaccines, a proportion significantly higher than elsewhere in the state. Furthermore, among the facility's staff, the vaccination rate is even more remarkable at 98.9%, putting it again in the top 10% of facilities. This astounding figure greatly surpasses the state's disappointing staff vaccination rate of 40.8%. Hence, whether it's residents or staff, the Casa Del Sol Center stands out in terms of vaccination rates.

    Quality Measures

The Casa Del Sol Center is a reputable nursing home with a notable 4-star quality measure rating. This places the facility in the upper echelons of care providers, further solidifying its status by being among the top 30% of nursing homes with the least amount of residents experiencing one or more major injuries due to falls — a percentage of 1.85% that is significantly lower than the state's incidence rate of 3.53%. The facility, however, has room for improvement; it lies in the lower 30% concerning the percentage of residents with ulcers at 9.9%, which surpasses the state's percentage of 8.22%. Remarkably, Casa Del Sol Center figures in the top 20% of facilities in terms of residents who have received antianxiety or hypnotic medication, boasting a percentage of 10.84% that is lower than the state’s 12.67%. Conversely, it is in the bottom 20% in respect to the percentage of residents with a catheter inserted and left in their bladder, recording 2.72%, a figure slightly higher than the state's 2.17%. Still, when it comes to resident safety, Casa Del Sol Center emerges yet again among the top 30% of nursing homes reporting the smallest percentage of residents with one or more falls leading to significant injury, registering an incidence of 1.85%, considerably lower than the state's percentage of 3.53%.

    Emergency and Hospitalization Quality Measures

Casa Del Sol Center, a nursing home, falls in the trailing 20% among facilities in terms of hospitalizations rate per 1000 days, with a rate of 2.49. This figure is alarmingly higher than the state average of 1.61. In terms of outpatient emergency department visits per 1000 days, it again ranks in the bottom 30% of facilities. However, its rate of 1.6 is paradoxically lower than the state's rate which stands at 1.77. When considering the proportion of short-stay residents who visited outpatient emergency departments, Casa Del Sol finds itself once again in the bottom 20% bracket, with a percentage of 17.57, a figure that surpasses the state’s percentage of 16.36. Despite these alarming statistics, the center ranks among the top 20% of facilities for its rate of short-stay residents who were rehospitalized following nursing home admission. Its figure of 14.86% is fortunately lower than the state’s figure of 19.28%. This contrasting performance indicates an area where the center is performing commendably.

My husband was admitted for rehab in March 2021. The staff and team work was excellent. The food was great. He received PT and OT and they made sure he was able to be independent as soon as possible. The administration was on top of everything and his experience was the best. I would recommend Casa Del Sol highly!

The staff here Is totally wonderful. From the management to care givers, I feel that the number one priority is to protect and care for their patients. They have managed a difficult situation lovingly. I am grateful. My rather cranky Father-in law is here. He's up and down all night, sleeps all day, needs help with everything, has dementia, is bossy, and everything is further complicated by external issues. It's a difficult situation. Here are some examples of the care he receives:After a fall the nurse called me from her personal phone so she could wait for the transport to arrive next to him, she didn't want him to be alone. All he had was a tiny bump on his but she whent well beyond to make sure I was notified and he was cared for.I call most mornings to see how he has done, and ask about his mental state. They know him, what he's been upto, and how he is doing; no looking through his chart or guessing. I'm pretty sure I'm a bother interrupting a busy morning, but they always take my call. The office and management staff clearly understand the business end of caregiving and protecting patients. I believe they have kept us well informed and advise us of the best way of managing a seriously complex situation.

I sure wish I could have given a negative number of stars for this place. First my mother was sent her for rehab, the “therapy” she receives is nothing more than a joke. Then these idiots repeatedly give my mother food that she is allergic to... it’s listed in her medical records. One of the times she was admitted into the hospital for an allergic reaction. And I’m betting my mother will be responsible for that bill too. The ONLY activity offered is bingo. There no TVs and no day room with a tv in it. I asked that my mother be evaluated for her stroke like symptoms, and that request has gone unanswered. This place would make much better use as an animal shelter.
