Totally disagree with the review not featured but I do remember the negative review I had read after it was decided to sign up with the Sheridan. Should have read that review prior to the decision made. Had we been aware of what really goes on, we would have signed with oakmont village in davie! Best-in-class? I think not! Nursing staff doesn't take care of residents like they claim they will, dining room menus are nothing like they advertise in the booklet given to perspective residents & btw, the food has no taste either, public areas are not clean, etc, etc, etc! Do not trust that what you are told will actually be how your loved will be "taken care of". It's a sales pitch folks & it sounds so convincing but ... NOT!
This place constantly drops the ball more and more every week. It may look like a 5 star Marriot, but you get Howard Johnson service at most. The head maintenance gentlemen portrays himself as the Director of the facility. I'm beginning to constantly find more and more state statutes being broken on a daily basis. Zero communication among the staff, the only written notes comes from the RN, which only one is on staff for over 150 residents, and the notes are not detailed what so ever. As I read many of the reviews already left for this facility it appears that they are all employees not from the family members of the residents. If your loved one is suffering from memory loss, Alzheimer's and dimentia, CONSIDER ALL OTHER OPTIONS.What qualifys the janitor to be the interim director of the facility? Why is there only one nurse on staff for over 100 residents? Why is that none of the aids can look you in the eye when being asked a simple question? Why is marketing to potential residents more important than the residents already living there?
Some staff members are very nice, yet there is one who should be let go, she happens to work in the evening many residents have complained about her. There is onsite parking. There is entertainment and activities for the seniors living there. Only 2 stars because of the cruel evening nurse.
