My mother has been in the memory care unit for 2 1/2 years and it has been a great disappointment. They are understaffed and poorly trained with insufficient supervision for patients with dementia. Last month my mother got scabies. This month she fell in her room alone, and after being discovered (who knows how long) was taken to the ER. After she was brought back to the facility, she fell again the same day and returned to the ER! She fractured her pelvis. It took days for me to get ahold of someone to find out what happened and if she was being properly supervised. No one answers their phone. It is definitely not worth over $12,000 per month. Do your research before placing a loved one there.
