WATERMARK CARE
At Watermark, we understand every resident is unique. As a result, we create personalized care plans with our wellness nurse prior to move-in, revising periodically as individual needs change. The Watermark Care program charges only for the care received, establishing full transparency in billing and a truly customized experience for each resident.
This plan is based on a charge-per-point methodology:

- $0.50 per point over 1,368 points

Overview of Staff and Training
Our staff includes both certified nursing assistants (CNAs) and non-CNAs who are thoroughly vetted, DOJ background screened, and certified dementia practitioners.
Safety and Well-being Measures
For the safety of our residents, we provide pendants in Assisted Living. However, these are not available in Memory Care.
Transition Support Services
We do not offer specific resources for residents' transition into the community other than our standard assistance.
Transportation Services
We provide transportation for scheduled outings and doctor appointments at no additional cost. Other transportation services may incur an extra charge.
Dining Experience
Our dining service is restaurant-style, offering two specials at all meals and an anytime menu for residents.
Resident Complaints and Issues
If a resident has a complaint or an issue, they should approach the appropriate Director to have it addressed.
Cost of Living

Communication with Residents' Families
Nursing staff and the Resident Care Director maintain communication with one designated family contact to keep them updated on their loved one's well-being.

We do not offer short-term or respite stays.

Yes, we are a pet-friendly community.
Covid and Flu Vaccinations
Residents are able to receive Covid and flu vaccinations during scheduled clinics within the community.
Aging in Place
Residents can age in place with our assisted living and two levels of Memory Care. There is a waitlist for Memory Care and assisted living, which requires a full community fee/entry fee of $25,000 to join. This fee is fully refundable should you change your mind.

The Cottages is ideally situated at the mouth of the Carmel Valley, and offers the classic Carmel experience for those seeking Assisted Living or Memory Care services. The Cottages of Carmel is also well-suited for independent seniors who are looking for a livelier and more carefree option than living alone.
Our Living Options
As a vibrant member of the Carmel community, we offer a variety of living options. The Highlands Cottage, overlooking Fish Ranch towards the Carmel Highlands, is the first cottage you see when you enter the property, and is suited for the highly active senior who requires a secure environment for their safety. The Bixby Cottage is our middle cottage, where traditional assisted living services are provided. Finally, our lovely Stillwater Cottage provides only the best memory care services for your loved one.
Apartment Features
Most apartments in Highlands and Bixby have French doors which open onto your private terrace. Additionally, each unit has its own gas fireplace, for those cool Carmel evenings. The Bixby Cottage also houses a welcoming and cozy living room area, open community lounges, library, a beauty salon and bistro, and our Main Dining Room.
Memory Care at Stillwater Cottage
Stillwater Cottage, named after our local Stillwater Cove, provides a safe and secure environment for our residents who require Memory Care services.
No Buy-In Required
A unique opportunity on the Monterey Peninsula, The Cottages of Carmel is a senior living community which does not require buy-in or commitment of your estate. We offer a comprehensive month-to-month lease which includes some amenities not typically found in other Senior Living Communities.
