Employees of Pacifica Senior Living in the Las Vegas, NV area generally have positive things to say about their experience working there. They report that the work force is friendly and kind, and that the hiring process is quick and easy. They also appreciate that the food is inexpensive and delicious, and that they can avail of discounted meal prices. Our mom was in rehab and was recommended to assisted living for her current needs. Pacifica San Martin came highly recommended from not only medical & rehab professionals, but from neighbors and friends who had family there. The staff is welcoming, organized, prompt and really put our minds at ease. The facility is clean, with so many nice amenities. Melody, Yvette, Julie & David were all willing to help are very responsive to all our questions. The whole vibe of the facility makes you & your loved one feel at home and in good hands.
It was time to move my mother into an assisted living retirement residence. This decision is never easy and searching for and choosing the best fit is always daunting. I was thrilled to discover Pacifica Senior Living at San Martin! It is a beautiful residence with many amenities! The staff is experienced, warm, caring and professional. The apartments are spacious and well appointed. The dining room is pleasant and the food is delicious and they offer many variaties! My mother has settled in very nicely and I couldn't be happier!
Our family took some time searching for a new home for my parents, who are in need of daily help with a few things.I live in CA and my parents don't want to leave LV. So, the search began for the perfect place for them. How impressive the 1 bedroom apartments are! There will be plenty of room for them, and we are very happy with our choice with choosing Pacifica San Martin. Thanks for the amazing guidance we have received from Shannon, she gave us some amazing tips and has really helped a difficult time to be much easier !
Two stars for the seemingly clean and quiet environment; they have many common areas and even a "salon". My dad didn't end up using this place for several reasons. I had contacted this place because it was recommended from A Place For Mom & after much research, it seemed the best fit for my need of respite care. Unfortunately, this business has unprofessional staff at the start. I was referred to Kiel, who was unreliable for regular communication once it was determined I wasn't immediately going to admit my dad within a day or two of talking with him. Kiel was nice when I did get to talk with him. Then there's Shannon, the interviewer to determine the needs of the client. Again, she seemed nice initially but couldn't help mentioning she was an anti-vaxxer when I told her my dad couldn't get the COVID vaccine. I told her science doesn't lie..that's why we don't have problems with polio, smallpox & measles anymore. Anyway some more details:They require negative COVID results before admittance as well as 2 negative TB tests which they said they could do once admitted. She said most of the residents were vaccinated already. Respite care minimum is two wks vs other places that have a month minimum, which is why I looked into this place. Starts at around $150/day depending on need of client. Shannon mentioned that they do have an LPN on staff but she wasn't sure if she could handle a bandage change! & they provide transport to appointments etc but since my dad had needs after 3pm, their service wasn't available as it only ran from 6am-3pm! Breakfast at 7-8am, lunch 12-1, dinner 4-5...Because of course allll old people wake up super early and go to bed by 8pm ;/ This started the ball rolling downhill at this place as my dad doesn't have this schedule & would certainly need minor bandage care. I got handed a packet & a jar of assorted chocolates as a 'welcome' gift & was told to call her or Kiel to schedule my Dad's "assessment", which would determine the type & cost of his care there, after his PCP filled out the info. She said she'd get back to me Monday for some of my concerns. I reviewed the packet & had more questions so I text Shannon on Monday & didn't hear from her so I tried Kiel. I could keep going (including I had to talk with the director Dwight because of no return text/call for our assessment appointment time!) but the main two other points of this review is their LPN Refused to look at my Dad's arm to see that it wasn't difficult to handle & said she could "only do TB tests & put bandaids on boo-boos" per state regulation and anything else would need a home health agency; she said they don't check blood pressure just hand out medicines (my experience w/ drs has always been check it before giving out meds). At this point I was pissed. I was told before the assessment, that bandage removal wouldn't be a big deal for Lisa to do then we get there & say there's no way. I had to delay his respite care further to contact a home health company & get documents etc. I let Shannon know then, on assessment day, that I'd get home health & what date I'd try again for respite care (roughly 3 weeks) for my dad. The week before that date, I contacted her, on a Tuesday so she would be working technically, to let her know I was finalizing the home health & needed to finish off the admittance paperwork. Nothing all week. Then Friday I received bad news & found I could no longer place my dad in respite & so text Shannon/Kiel that I no longer needed their business. Shannon almost immediately text back saying she had been on vacation, only just back & she found that the respite room had already been rented out & didn't seem to care that they lost our business. They supposedly had two rooms available when I talked with them last. Kiel never bothered to respond. No surprise that elder care just like allll the rest of medical care is about making money. Assisted living is almost always out of your personal money so choose wisely. Do lots of research & read reviews & how to-s. No place will be perfect but wait & find the best you can! Oh btw the other staff member I met was Rosie and she seemed nice but implied that the laundry service lost clothes a lot & that "most family members just did their loved ones laundry vs having them do it!" I replied it's part of the cost per day so why would I do his laundry every week if he's there and I'm needing respite?? At this point I was wondering why we'd be paying them: I was going to have to drive him to his thrice weekly appointments already, hire home health to do the most basic of first aid, he would be checking his own blood pressure, and now they encouraged me to do his laundry too??!I had read this is a huge problem nationwide at all facilities like this. Label your loved ones clothes and don't allow the place to buy clothes out of the expense account. Horror stories online of hundreds of dollars a year spent for clothes and things that the facilities took from accounts!
My Mother has been living here for over two years. She is always treated with kindness. The Executive Director, Cyndi Morris, truly cares for the residents, doing whatever it takes to make sure everyone is happy, comfortable and their needs are met. There is plenty to do, some examples; movies daily in their movie theater, happy hour in the Pub, entertainment, Bible studies, Bingo, Wii bowling, church services at their Chapel, you can also go to their hair Salon and get your hair cut/styled or get a manipedi. They have outings daily, trips to Walmart, CVS, restaurants etc.... I visit my Mother often & we enjoy going to happy hour (every now & then) and entertainment. I also join her for dinner every so often, in the dining room. We also, weather permitting, enjoy sitting in the court yard, for which there are several to choose from. I, nor my Mom, has never encountered a negative, unfriendly staff member, all are very helpful and compassionate. I just want to give another shout out to Cyndi, for she continues to do her best to make sure Pacifica SanMartin is running at its best!
If you're looking for a memory care facility for a family member please keep looking!!! Our mom was a resident at Pacifica San Martin for almost 2 years on both AL and MC sides as her dementia worsened. The lack of care, cleanliness and compassion is embarrassing!!! The turn over of staff should have let us know something was not great there, but for almost $6000.00 a month I had hoped for more! We recently moved mom out of there and the FILTH we found in her room was DISGUSTING! Clogged toilet and no one could find a plunger! I had to clean the toilet after an accident and her mattress was soiled and they just covered it up with a diaper pad!!! GROSS!!! The memory care side has maybe 8 residents, yet they don't keep them active at all! Smells like urine throughout unless the state people are coming to check on the facility then you'll smell bleach and cleaning supplies. Please think twice before moving your family members into Pacifica San Martin!
where do i start,my only concern is that i will not be able to cover every single thing that is wrong with this place. But ,whatever i miss in this review trust me there were dozens of other issues. Lets start with the staff. The person who sold us the rental is pretty much a rude ignorant lying fool. I wont bother to recount every issue but they must of had to scrap the bottom of the barrel for this person. Next up is the executive director. first time i met him he was wearing shorts and a hawaiian shirt. executive director, more like a clown and it was downhill from there. It was almost impossible to get this guy on the phone or to return calls. when i did finally get him he listened to my grievences ,yes me to death and didnt address one issue. Then there was the staff, this place is inadequetly staffed by people who do the bare minimum and complain all the time making snarky remarks and are very unacommodating. for instance one night my father couldent find his tv remote..they claimed to have gone up three times and coldent find it. i drove 30 minutes over there and found it in 60 seconds. then i went into the bathroom where I found dried feces on his toilet seat and on the floor. Nice huh? I cleaned it. There were instances of my father falling and pushing his pendant only to be on the floor waiting for help for 30/45/60 min. there was a nurse there that would threaten my father that they would call an ambulance if he didnt transfer faster from his wheel chair to his bed. There was a time when he had his diapers on top of the armoir and when they reched for them they accidently knocked them back a bit and couldent reach them, hello get a chair? so they said they were out of diapers because of this, can you believe this bs? again i was required to go down reach up and grab the diapers...ugh..exhasperating..all of this for 4k a month. me and my family were calling there every single day to address issues that should have just been handled. When the director went to evaluate my father we were given the impression that he was to be evaluated. He went in introduced himself to my father and never came back. he really didnt care, all he cared about was charging fees. I feel in this reguard they were neglegent. I also tried to reach the executive headquarters in san diego. you cant even call them they dont have a phone number that I could find anywhere on the internet. i had to send an email ,I waited about 2 weeks and the message was bounced back to the facility director. WTF? This place is completely understaffed, they pay their workers poorly and at the exective level they are only concerned with filling rooms. Dont be decieved by the appearance of the facility it is very nice looking ,located next to a hospital,it all appears to be great. but then the nightmare begins. The food is also sub par for that kinda money i would expect something better then poorly prepared sysco meals. It was clear from the start that they could not handle a person in my fathers condition but ignored it to get a payday. There is a big turn around on staff. no one seems to stay longer then 6 to 9 months and most a lot less. This all happened in a period of less then 3 months. My father was finally transfered to hospice care. You have been warned !
Pacifica San Martin is a beautiful community. They have so many activities for their residents to do and the Activity Director has done an excellent job with keeping their residents engaged while providing the residents an outlet to keep their independence. The Executive Director, Dwight is great and very involved with his residents. He is always out and about within the community engaging with the residents and staff.
My husband and I toured Pacifica San Martín this week and enjoyed it very much. We were greeted by a very friendly staff who showed sincerity and were truly happy to be there. We are touring for my mom as she will be moving here this month and I’m looking for the perfect community for her. What’s important to us is activity, friendship, and Good healthy Well balanced meals. And of course any type of assistance that she will be needing. The location is perfect, it’s right off the freeway next- to San Martín Hospital. Plenty of shopping and restaurants around, pretty much everything she will be needing! We can’t wait to come back and tour with her as Pacifica San Martin is at the very top of our list!
My step father's experience was wonderful. Everyone that he encountered was very caring and extremely attentive. However, upon his departure from the facility he was assured of an payment refund as we was not a resident for the full month of March. It is now June 1st and he has not received any type of refund. I spoke with Amy on several occasions and was given the "excuse" that due to the COVID 19 the corporate staff operations were minimized. This has been 10 weeks! Amy, also, was quite callous in each of the times I spoke with her and she, on numerous occasions referred to me step father as a "vendor".The corporate office has yet to respond to any of my messages. I am positive that Pacifica would not tolerate at resident delaying their payment for 10 weeks.Great personnel, substandard management.
I can not say enough wonderful things about Pacifica San Martin! When my family and I had to come to the very difficult decision of moving our parents from the home that they lived in for almost 60 into an assisted living community, we were heartbroken to say the least. After visiting many other communities we found San Martin. What a blessing everyone was. The staff was welcoming and made us and our parents feel so comfortable with the move. My parents absolutely love the community and all their new friends! Thank you to everyone that made our family feel like your family. High praises to Pacifica San Martin Senior Living!!!!!!
My grandmother needed to be transferred from her Rehab Center to an Assisted Living facility to call "Home". We received a referral for Pacifica Senior Living and they have been wonderful since day one. Kiel Hale - the Community Relations Director has been a god send, even allowing my grandmother to stay in one of their furnished suites so that we didn't have to drive down to Lake Havasu in the middle of the night to collect her furniture and immediately bring it down to her new apartment. It can be very hard to pull the trigger and have your loved one stay in a retirement community but after touring and visiting almost every single one in the Las Vegas Valley, even Las Ventanas, Pacifica hands down has our vote and their staff is incredible. Thank you Kiel and Pacifica Senior Living!
I was so scared in the beginning at the thought of doing this process for my dad but we just couldn't give him the care he needed anymore. The people here explained everything and how it all works so I can make an informed decision without any pressure. It was a great experience and I feel 100 times better about my dad moving into a facility. Thank you.
