We moved Mom to Kingston. Prior, she been 1300 miles away, first, on her own, then in an "independent living" apartment. Toward the end there we were making the 1300 mile trip once every two or three months. We toured all the senior living places in Santa Fe, multiple times, over several years. In "shopping", the Kingston seemed the brightest, best populated (good for senior socializing), most active. It had (has) the best food. We're still happy with the choice. Yep, pricey. But Mom eventually (well, actually, shortly) moved from "assisted living" to "memory care".The folks at the Kingston are competent, patient, gracious, friendly, and caring. They do things (above and beyond) that we find out about only by effort of discovery. If you have a loved one who needs this sort of care we recommend you include the Kingston Residence of Santa Fe in your considerations. It may help you mellow out in difficult times.Don't forget to care for the caregiver so you can be a better caregiver.
My father has been a resident of Kingston for over a year now. Our family has been very happy with the level of care he has received. The nursing staff are very caring and informative. They call if any issues arise or to inform us if he needs anything. The entire staff is well trained, friendly and helpful.
Kingston Residence has been the best choice for care for my father. From my initial call to arrange a tour, to selection of an apartment to best suit his needs, to constantly providing the best possible experience for him and for me, I have been always impressed with the level of kindness and care from everyone there. 24-hour nursing care and a private balcony for some outdoor space in his spacious and renovated apartment played a big role in our decision making. I am so grateful for his level of quality care.
My mother has lived at Kingston Residence in Santa Fe for the last two years in the memory care unit. We recently moved to the area and found a home for mom here at Kingston. The care she has received has been exceptional. The environment is warm and welcoming. Anna and the staff provide fun activities for the residents throughout the day for the memory care residents. Her needs are continually being monitored and any modifications to her health plan are made quickly and efficiently. During Covid-19 the staff has kept us “in-touch” with mom through FaceTime and visits at the window, while talking on the phone. The restrictions have been welcomed as keeping the residents healthy is their (and our) top priority. My brothers and I are so thankful for the caregivers at Kingston and all they do for our mother. We highly recommend Kingston Residence for anyone looking for a caring facility for their loved ones.
June 4, 2019. My husband died from an injury he sustain from a negligent staffer. She placed him upright at the dining table (which he was supposed to stay elevated & reclined)due to pressure sores on feet. Needless to say he fell & hit his head.Received a call May [email protected] 6pm that Carlos had fallen and that the staffer now knows not to place him upright. That he see.s okay. Nurse Sandy said all staff had been informed. Too damn late Carlos was in the hospital for two weeks and died due to his injuries he sustain by incompetent staff.
I am a secret shopper and tour this facility. Reception attended to me promptly. I met with the leasing office, the woman was nice but could not explain in depth assisted living question. When comparing the building to others in the surrounding area, it is out-dated. The first floor dining room is very dark. The second floor dining hall has views of the mountains which can make up for the drab first choice. Hallways need cleaning up. There isn't many people out in the common areas, so I didn't get a feel for customer satisfaction. The activities calendar is full but didn't see any activities going on. I give it two stars for the leasing agent's time and promptness of the receptionist.
My Mom is well cared for at Kingston. The staff is friendly and helpful, the planned events, are open to family members, and the residents are delightful to see. The meals are well planned and the Chef is excellent. I can't wait to visit again , once COVID restrictions are lifted.
