Heritage Park Description
Heritage Park Baptist Church was planted by First Baptist Church Friendswood in 1977. Judson Edwards served as the founding pastor, leading the church to serve the burgeoning community as NASA took on the Space Shuttle program and the petrochemical industry’s presence increased. After 20 years of ministry among the people of Heritage Park, Judson and his wife Sherry moved to San Antonio. Steve Buckland followed, serving as pastor for 7 years. In 2007, Trent Henderson became the pastor of Heritage Park.
Since 2007, the church has focused on the transformation of lives through the Gospel as taught by Jesus in the Great Commission (Matthew 28.18-20). An emphasis on the present reality of the Kingdom of God and its power to genuinely and authentically change people from the inside out has been a hallmark of the church’s ministry and the church’s voice. As a result, the church has grown and expanded its ministries around the world, currently having local and global partnerships in places as close as Galveston and as far away as England.
