I called to notify them of the death of a family member who owed an outstanding balance because they died. Instead of saying anything, LITERALLY ANYTHING ELSE KIND, they said "oh we figured. We were just waiting to see if her things went to probate". THIS IS A LUTHERAN FACILITY!!!! seriously!! Who says that to someone who just lost a family member!? "Waiting to see if it went to probate"?! Not sorry. Not condolences. Nothing! It's all about money with these people! Awful.

For seniors or families that have loved ones who may be interested in visiting a retirement facility, in 9 days I will have been a resident at Heisinger Bluffs Independent Living for one year. You can imagine how difficult it is to make such a lifestyle change at the age of 78, single, and healthy. Leaving a great neighborhood and a large cozy home of 29 years.I visited several senior living places and had always been attracted to Heisinger. For me, their main strengths are: non-profit charity, faith-based, lifetime care available, and excellent staff of leadership and extended services.Being here, I am happier, healthier, and (by choice) active in many opportunities.

My mother came to Heisinger (the skilled nursing portion) two years ago after having a stroke. No one chooses to be in a nursing home. Every elderly man and woman wants to stay in their own home...even as their health declines. But sometimes there’s no other way. We are so thankful for Heiseinger. They provide wonderful care - on both the medical and compassion / caring plane. Tina, the head of nursing, does an amazing job keeping the place staffed. And all of the nurses, nurse techs and aides are so good at what they do. And Carmelita who runs the kitchen is also incredible. And what they do is NOT easy. It takes a special person to work in a nursing home day after day. Five stars and a huge thank you from a grateful son.

We very much appreciated the care that Ashley and others gave our Mother/Grandmother for the few days she was there in their care. Very comforting for us to not have to be there 24/7. Thank you!

They give my father good care--which is more than I can say for them when it comes to allowing me to see him. They hung up on me when I caught them in a lie (In Memory Care Facility--the rest of the place is on the up and up). I may have to sue them and my family for keeping my father away from me.

They kick the residents out as soon as possible because they don't want to deal with insurance. The administration was supposed to call and explain why they were an hour late getting my mother to her doctor appappointment without calling me so I was at the Dr waiting.

My parents have been at Heisinger Bluffs for 10 months . They love it there. If you have elderly parents they focus on food and cleanliness. The food is good and the facility is well maintained. They always remark how ”clean” it is. They like the activities and the staff are great. Our family highly recommends it.

Heisinger Bluffs & St. Joseph's Bluffs - Lutheran Senior... refuse to let me see my father or tell him I love him and want to talk to me. My schedule is so busy with book and all, so I will have to tell my story about how my family treats me and how they have made it impossible to see my father before I may never see him again. In between book stuff. That will be my platform now: My book will be my platform and it has the audience to take me away from all that hurt me--my so-called friends and so-called family: Both of which should have helped but just prayed.
