We have been touring various assisted living communities for my father. When we do decide to move him, this is the community we have chosen for him. The staff are friendly and helpful and the building is very clean and orderly. They have lovely areas outside for him to sit and enjoy the weather. During one of our tours, they invited us for lunch and it was both healthy and tasty. They are very accommodating and kind and I think my father will do very well there.
There are not enough words to describe how wonderful the staff and community are at Greenfield! I have recently been trying to find a place for my elderly aunt with very little luck and they have surpassed my expectations! A special thanks goes to Tracy, Karen, Lisa, Paula and Sharon. Transitioning to assisted living can be terrifying for our loved ones and they have allowed her to feel she is truly cared for. You won't find a sour face from anyone on site, these people work there out of love. 4 walls make a building but these people are what make it home.Anyone would be lucky to live at Greenfield!
If I could give less than one star I would. My husband and I lived there about a year, and it was a terrible place to live. The food was barely edible and the care was extremely spotty. They used any excuse to confine us to our rooms in the name of CoVid problems even after we were vaccinated. I think it was because they were trying to run the place with just a few employees. They refused to let you leave the facility with a relative when they came to pick you up. They kept all the doors locked because they had people with Alzheimer’s in with the assisted living patients. One of them came into our room and tried to take something. When I told her to leave, she kicked me. That person was finally asked to relocate if she wouldn’t go to the Alzheimer’s unit. It was just constant problems from the day we got there. We had a tiny room and bathroom for two people at a price that was raised ultimately to $7100 a month. They also did not give us all our possessions when we left. They kept some of our things and won’t return them after multiple phone calls.
I have the pleasure of being a part of the Greenfield Senior Living team. I never had the opportunity to work with seniors, so I did not know what to expect. What I have found is a building full of dedicated professionals who love and care for every resident no matter how challenging. It is said the measure of a person is not what they do when someone is watching but what they do when no one is watching. My job takes me all over the building countless times a day. Listening and learning about the care that happens in our building. I quietly witness the love that these people give to our residents. I have the greatest respect for the staff at Greenfield Senior Living. On my drive home after work, I reflect back to the day. I can honestly say I helped someone (resident or staff) or put a smile on their face today.
I am a resident at Greenfield Senior Living of Williamsburg, VA, and have been here over a year. I'm very happy here and have made many new friends both with residents and staff. We have lots of activities. My favorite is our art club which is taught by another resident and friend--we paint something new every week. I also really enjoy musical presentations, bible study, karaoke, and the interesting word games we play as a group. My really favorite treat is when Kevin barbecues his special ribs. We also go on road trips and out for lunch. We have a great family room where we can watch the news, shows, and movies and also listen to music. If your family is looking for an assisted living facility, they should check out Greenfield of Williamsburg. I will be happy to show my room to all of you and tell you about my life here.
