My mom was here four years. She developed severe dementia and towards the end she did not know me but thought I was part of the staff. She always had a big smile for me though which made me feel she felt close to people who cared for her. This is not an easy job but the culture is defined by management. In my experience it was Ms.Tami McFarland who created an atmosphere of respect for those in her care.

Desert peaks used to be a lovely place and really cared about there residents but since they have new management they don’t care at all about there staff or residence they will let residence go weeks without medications because they didn’t take the time to re order them. They will ignore residence concerns and laugh about them later Amongst other staff members which is very unprofessional they cover up falls and other incidence that happen so they don’t have to make a report on them. They don’t look for the better outcome for the residence they just look at money money money instead of giving potential residence the proper assessment to make sure they have the tools and the abilities to take care of them at the facility they will just take in anyone and that’s not right some people needs a more skilled nursing home but they don’t care that’s another room filled for them to get money. And don’t even get me started on there food my family member was there and I payed well over 5 thousands dollars a month for her to get nasty frozen meals that i wouldn’t even feed to my dog they looked so bad they don’t care about what the residence what to eat they have a menu to order from if they don’t like what’s being served for dinner but any time a resident wants to they give them attitude about it so the residence don’t even want to order off of it. They served her bread one day that was so hard i with a full set of teeth couldn’t bite it and a lot of people in these places have dentures and it’s hard for them to eat some things as is, but back to the administration they do not care I have plenty of times talked with Jana the wellness director she just tells u what u wanna hear them does nothing about it pat the Administator is just as worthless as they come and Patrick who is in charge of the kitchen gave me a look like I was stupid when I went to him with the concerns.I would not recommend anyone to put someone they love in this facility they will not get the care they deserve.

Don't send your loved ones there with anything that has value. They just say "sorry" and forget about it and blame your loved one for losing them. My mother's diamond wedding ring, necklace, and pierce earrings went missing. There's no way my mother could even of taken them off herself. Still waiting for the admistrator to contact me.

It is best for me to just say, take care of you loved ones at home, keep them home! Plus they are selling this place, they will leave your loved one at the end because they want more money.

Shady people and staff. worked here for a short period of time and frankly i can say administration is looking for deep pockets and nothing else.. They do not care for their elderly and refrain from treating their employes with fairness under staffed and if you do not comply with their shinanigans then you are treated unfair. People die and they dont care to check on them durring night hours wow and you post on Facebook with good old times. You should be ashame. Save your money love your loved ones go somewhere else and ask for a UA
