We just returned from spending 4 days with my mother in Cedar Lake Independent Community. It was a delightful experience and we were truly taken by the sweet friendly atmosphere and great number of amenities available. Surprisingly, the food was delicious at every meal. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to the staff for maintaining the beauty and cleanliness of the facility and setting a high standard of care and concern for the precious people they minister to. The comfort and peace that we felt in leaving her and coming back home is priceless. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.Bob and Tammy Wies
Cedar Lake Village staff deserves numerous metals for the excellent care that has been administered to my mother. The memory care staff have been patient, loving, and caring with her. What I especially like is the "Family-Like Christian atmosphere." I know that there are times that mom is stubborn. Even during those difficult occasions, I have observed wonderful bedside manner and compassion, something you rarely find these days. Words cannot express the gratitude our family feels for all the acts of kindness shown to mom. I always leave Cedar Lake Village feeling like my mother is in excellent hands.
The rent continues to increase, but not the level of care decreases. Cedar Lake AL is outdated with old furniture in the "community space" and cheap carpeting in the rooms. Lighting is fluorescent and doesn't have an upbeat feel. The front office greeters, do not make a good first impression. On an upside, there were several nurses (however, they were contract employees) that were very friendly and helpful.
The staff and residents have been fantastic as my parents have transitioned from living at home to living at Cedar Lake Village in the Independent Living Wing. Obviously the pandemic has slowed group activities that are so vital to senior citizens but the staff have done an excellent job of protecting their residents from the virus. I would highly recommend Cedar Lake Village!
My dad has lived in CLV Assisted Living since Dec of 2015. The facility is great, pleasant clean and well maintained. The staff are wonderful. Always caring and courteous. Since COVID 19 the facility has been locked down since mid March for the safety of the residents. My family is so very thankful of all the precautions and extra work that the entire team at CLV is taking to keep this facility COVID free!!! That is an amazing feat. The entire team has done a wonderful job keeping all of the residents healthy! The Stickle Family truly appreciates the effort you all take to do this. We know that it is not easy and has been going on forever and we are thankful everyday that Dad chose Cedar Lake Village to be his home! We continue to sing the praises of the wonderful care, concern and grace you show our Dad, Jack Stickle, especially during these very trying, stressful times.God Bless you All,Jenny Rooney, Lee Stickle, Teri Stickle, and Dad’s 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
The staff at CLV have consistently been kind and responsive not only to my father, but to us as well. They are easy to reach, responsive to our concerns, and do all they can to ensure that my Dad has the highest quality of life possible. Thank you for continued care and support.
The staff at Cedar Lake Village have done an amazing job keeping their residents safe during this pandemic. They have all pitched in and helped to serve food to the residents in the safest way possible. I appreciate their weekly emails to let me know what is going on at Cedar Lake Village and the other residential facilities they also manage. My email includes a copy of the weekly letter that residents receive to keep current on procedures and the transparency of the Good Samaritan residential care system. During this crisis, it has been a great relief to know my parents are with such a caring staff and in such good hands. The facility is safe, clean and well maintained. When possible they provide many activities and my parents look forward to when social distancing restrictions can be relaxed and some of their favorite activities can be resumed. In the meantime, the staff have provided daily newsletters for residents enjoyment and organized Mother’s day and Father’s day car parades. As we adjust to this new world the staff continue to find ways to stay connected with their residents and provide services. My parents do not drive and on the rare occasion they need transportation to doctor visits their transportation has been easy to arrange through the staff.Thank you for all you have done and continue to do to keep each resident safe.
Dad moved into Independent Living 90 days ago. In our new environment of Covid awareness, Cedar Lake Village has gone beyond my expectation of keeping my Dad safe. They have control of that situation. Of course, the great food he raves about, and even getting housekeeping services, are on the top of his list of reasons he likes it at Cedar Lake Village, but his safety is my utmost concern. The front desk staff is beyond kind and caring. They go out of their way to make sure every question is answered, every one is happy and most of all safe. They feel so much like "family". I searched for a long time before choosing Cedar Lake Village and it's one of the BEST decisions I have ever made for my Dad. I highly recommend Cedar Lake Village. Take a tour. You'll love it.
Cedar Lake Village is a class act. The resident’s well-being is the prime concern. Safety and wellness are promoted throughout. Personal interest and concern is shown with the attention of the staff by learning about the residents and meeting their families. All services are available from banking to hair dressing to housekeeping. Residents may be as involved as they wish in a variety of activities. The Village has been “home” to my mother for over 10 years and she feels she has“the best place to live”
Five years ago, my parents knew that CLV set a very high bar when the moved here and toured multiple retirement communities. They have enjoyed their stay and shortly after moving in, they comfortably called it home. The dining and amenities are great. Even during the current restrictions, the staff continue to ensure a safe environment but still maintain some semblance of normalcy. I highly recommend CVL be placed on your list to visit when selecting a new residence.
My family member has been living here for five years, and she remains very glad that she relocated to Cedar Lake Village. It is a wonderful location with a friendly vibe, thoughtful staff, and convenient proximity to nearby medical care. I have been particularly impressed with how vigilant this facility has been about their consistent efforts to mitigate the COVID risk. We truly appreciate CLV!
My dad has been at this place for over four years. He has been satisfied there. We especially like that they have different levels of care, from independent living, services like meals and housekeeping, to assisted living and memory care. Residents are able to move from one level to another based on need and their own preferences. There are a variety of activities for residents to participate in, or they may choose to spend their time on their own. They can accommodate residents with their own vehicles, and they can arrange transportation to medical appointments within a reasonable radius. They have especially been good during the pandemic, keeping families informed and finding ways for outsiders to interact with residents while remaining safe.
I have worked for the Good Samaritan Society as a whole for 8 years, and have spent the last 6 years at Cedar Lake Village. It's wonderful to work alongside caring and compassionate team members, who have our residents' best interests as the sole focus of their day to day work. The caring, spiritual environment at Cedar Lake Village has been a huge blessing to me as an employee.
Cedar Lake Village has been a wonderful home for our mother over the past 14 years. Our parents moved there in 2006 and enjoyed several years together - finding new friendships, a variety of activities and a caring staff. The move was energizing for them, as they could fully enjoy retirement without the worry of maintaining a home. Since our father passed away in 2010, Cedar Lake has continued to provide our mother with a safe and supportive community of friends and caregivers. It feels like home to her. More recently, she has moved from independent to assisted living. The staff provided tremendous support during this transition and helped our entire family feel that our mother was in the best place receiving the best care possible. It is a beautiful, clean, well-maintained facility with a very dedicated staff. Cedar Lake Village has truly been a blessing for our family!
I try to visit weekly with my Mom, whom lives in an independent cottage on campus. Throughout the whole COVID-19 experience, my Mom remains in great healthon. I’m thankful my mom is allowed social interaction with other residences specially since we don’t feel we can safely visit until the COVID-19 situation all blows over when we can all be vaccinated.I just want the staff to know how well they are all doing at keeping the virus under control within the CLV facility. Living in Knoxville, TN recent news reported about a 13% death rate in senior living centers. When I hear that, I’m so thankful for your continued efforts in Olathe.
The staff at Cedar Lake Village are very caring and competent. They have maintained very high standards to keep the residents safe from Covid-19, the most important thing of all at this time. Their Sr. Living Manager has kept the families of residents informed and up to date. My sister has thrived there and we are thankful!
Cedar Lake Village is an amazing facility. When my husband and I were looking at places to move his elderly parents from up-state New York to Kansas to be closer to family, Cedar Lake checked all the boxes. It provided independent living options, meals, and housekeeping services. The Village also provides options if their health starts to deteriorate, we can easily transition them into assisted living. The Village provides activities and outings for them to be involved in with other residents. During the current pandemic the weekly and sometimes daily updates only reinforce that this is the best place for Eric's parents to be. It is extremely nice to be so close to first rate health care facilities within a mile of the Village. Eric and I would highly recommend Cedar Lake to anyone with aging parents. It allows them to still be independent, but provide much needed services to help them fully enjoy their twilight years.
I really loved Cedar Lake. I thought so highly of them we moved my wife's mother there since my grandmother was already there. I am absolutely gutted and devastated at how they are handling my grandmothers transition to a nursing home. We are all in a time of crisis and this is not being handled appropriately. They are moving a 92yr old woman with severe dementia to a nursing home in the middle of a PANDEMIC where she will have no access to her family because of the lock down. I realize you have policy's in place but we are in an unprecedented global health crisis, which requires consideration for every choice we make. DO BETTER!
Employment at Cedar Lake Village has been a very fulfilling entity to my nursing career. Cedar Lake Village is very caring and thoughtful to their employees and residents. If my father were alive today, I would have highly encouraged the Cedar Lake Village for his residence. He would have received excellent care as well as make friends, have entertainment with activities, and fine dining with great food. Cedar Lake Village is a FUN place!!!!!!!!
I worked at Cedar Lake for almost 2 years before I moved to another state! It was I honor and a privilege to be a part of Cedar Lake and Good Samaritan and what they do for our loved ones who need a little extra care! I wish I was still there working at Cedar Lake! I miss all my residents that I clean for and all the ones that I was very close too! God bless Cedar Lake Village!
