Do you guys currently have a waitlist?
Not at the moment, but it is always good to call prior to wanting to move in to check.
Could you provide an overview of the types of professionals on your staff and the training they undergo at your facility?
We have Certified Nursing Assistants, Certified Medication Aides, LPN’s working the floor doing hands on care. Each of these require Certificates that are issued by the state of Kansas.
Could you tell me about the measures you have in place to ensure the safety and well-being of your residents?
There are many things implemented to ensure the best safety of our residents. Some include (24 hour staff) at all times, Call Pendants (necklaces that are worn around their neck that can be pushed) to have staff come to the apartment when/if needed. Every Shift has a Certified Nursing Assistant and a Certified Medication Aide and OR an LPN who does one of these duties. Then myself and my Wellness Director are on-call 24 hrs a day 7 days a week if needed. Of course when/if and if needed we call 911 for that support as well.
Do you offer any resources or support services to aid residents' transition into the community?
We do not have services to provide transitioning into the community. Are you referring to moving companies or services to provide transportation?
Do you offer transportation services for residents?
We do not offer transportation to medical appointments. We do have a community bus that is ONLY used for activities for the residents. Example: every week the activity director takes the residents out to an outing (Walmart/dollar store) just to get out.
Could you tell me a little about your dining experience?
Our dining room is open each meal (breakfast, lunch and dinner) with restraint style dining. This means our staff come to each table and take the residents order then takes the order ticket back to the kitchen window where then the plate is taken back to the resident. There are NO assigned seats in the dining room, it is first come first serve.
What is the process that takes place if a resident has a complaint or an issue they want addressed?
If there is an issue or complaint one can write it out and put it in our front lobby “chest” (small box) where can drop it in if they want to stay anonymous. If not, myself or my Wellness Director are always available to talk.
What is the cost of living in your community?
I have attached the brochure again for you with the pricing of our studio apartments.
What is your policy on communication with resident's families? How do you keep them updated about their loved ones' well-being?
Communication is done with the resident and or their POA or assigned person they want us to communicate with. This is part of the move in process and is determined at that time. Communicating about your loved one is done by myself or my Wellness Director OR both (or can be staff member on duty as well) depending on who is working that shift when something arises.
Do you all offer short-term or respite stays? How much does this cost?
My community offers only 30 day OR longer respite stays and the cost is the same as it would be per month on a move in (pricing in packet) attached.
Are you all a pet-friendly community?
Pets are welcome as long as the resident is able to take care of the pet 100% on their own and approved by the Executive Director prior to move in.
Are residents able to get Covid vaccination and flu vaccinations in the community?
Yes, our pharmacy we contract through can do both of these in house.
Are residents able to age in place?
Yes, absolutely!
