I recently had the pleasure of staying at Bride Brook for rehab after back surgery. For me, it was a wonderful experience. The nursing and care staff members for the most part answered the call lights in a timely manner and were very caring and helpful. The Physical and Occupational Therapists are dedicated and professional. The only shortcoming is the food which is the complaint I hear most about Bride Brook.P. S. A few weeks after I was released to go home, I went to visit a friend at Bride Brook who just happened to be in the same bed I had been in. Walking through the first floor, I was warmly greeted by the staff members who had taken care of me. My friend said she was very pleased with Bride Brook overall. I just happened to be there during lunchtime, and the food looked appetizing and more nutritious. The CNA who delivered the food said that there is a new chef. What a difference! My friend raved about the meals, and I was pleased that management staff was being proactive.I very much recommend this facility.
I was a patient at Bride Brook rehab since October 24,2021 and was discharged today November 9,2021. This facility treated me very well during my short time there. The Nursing Staff, the PT Staff, the O.T Staff and everyone else treated me with kindness and respect. Professionalism was #1 in my book. Thank you Bride Brook rehab.!!!
My aunt was recently at Bride Brook. She came to them after spending 43 days in Backus from a perforated colon and was recovering from septic shock. After being in bed for so long she had no ability to walk or do anything else. The Bride Brook Staff was amazing. They really went above and beyond and really truly cared. Special Thank you to Lori for always taking my calls and helping me with dr's appointments. Amy, Amber, Rome, Danny & Penny were the best. They are all a class act and I couldn't have made it these last 2 months without all your help. So glad she had the best care ever.
Expert care for my 90-year-old mother, post-hospitalization. This is her second stay at Bride Brook (she recovered here from a more serious illness a couple of years ago), and it is clearly the best facility for recovery care. The staff is particularly dedicated. Care meetings with all departments covered all issues, and that included discussions with an expert regarding my mother's increasing dementia (a recent development). Occupational and Physical Therapy staff is particularly good. Nursing staff handled my mother's complicated medication needs perfectly. Attention to COVID protocols relieved me of any anxiety regarding my mother's well-being. Our goal was to get her safely back home, and this was done with care and compassion. Thanks.
I’ll save you a few moments of your life in reading this by summing it up for you… GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!2 Stars only Bc she was mostly safe their and a couple of staff members truly care and are helpful. My mother stayed here after having surgery as a place to recover. The staff are nice and all but do not tend to each patients needs individually. They instead, treat all patients in a uniformed fashion, much like how farmers tend their cattle or crops. One example - my mother has diabetes and needs a specialized diet. Nothing crazy, just something that doesn’t make her BP go up. She met with their “dietitian” with her concerns and their response was, “to just take more insulin”. We later had a conference call with their “team” when I questioned this and the leading nurse knew nothing of my mothers dietary plan nor what she was being served. She took the delivery menu receipts with her after the meeting to later question the “dietitian”. There was no follow through or change from the meals served. I don’t want to say ALL staff there are terrible or incompetent Bc that’d be dishonest (To those that work there and actually care, mainly 2 nurses, get a job somewhere else) Staff working (we’ll call them “nurses” due to what they were hired to do) would rather sit and gossip about their life than go up and get the prescribed pain meds to help alleviate the pain my mothers experiencing. They just leave that task for the following shift (4 hours later). All the while, due to their COVID protocol, my mother isn’t allowed to leave her room even to request said medication when hours have gone by. I’ll end this rant now but please do yourself and/or family member a favor and look elsewhere. I feel responsible for how my mother was treated Bc I’m the one that setup her stay.
My Grandmother Eloise had excellent end of life care at this facility, very compassionate and caring. Before leaving my opinion I was scrolling reviews and saw a negative review from "Eric" who seems like a disgruntled ex-employee, so I'd take that with a grain of salt. The facility was clean (from what we could see through window due to Covid) , and my grandmother enjoyed the food (she mostly ate the desserts)Amy who was the nurse manager on the first floor was always helpful with questions when myself or my mom called for updates.considering the circumstances with Covid I was pleased overall and would choose them again for care if needed. To be frank its nicer than Bayview where my mom rehabbed after hip replacement 2 years ago.
My father was there for 2 weeks following a fall. There were not enough nurses or CNAs on the floor to help the patients. He would press the one way call button when he needed to use the bathroom. Often it would go unanswered. Quite a few times he had to call the main number and ask for someone to come to help him. One time he was told not to do that. But when no one is responding due to lack of workers...what choice do you have?He also requested an additional medical scan to be done on his injured leg and it was dismissed as nothing to worry about by the PT Dr. 1 week later, and a visit to a doctor who LISTENS, he got the MRI he asked for and now he’s having surgery to repair a major knee injury.:/
I am writing this review on behalf of my mom.Under the circumstances (two weeks for rehab), the staff at Bride Brook made her stay a positive experience. Everyone entered her room with a bright smile and hello which made it a positive and healing place to be. Mom felt the staff was there for her, to make her as comfortable as possible, and she felt their commitment to get her the quality rehab services she needed. They took every precaution to keep things clean and germ free. Thank you for your excellent care!
My husband has been at Bridebrook for 3 yrs now. I can't thank enough for all the care and compation that the entire staff has given him and myself. There isn't a moment that I don't thank God I found these Angel's . Being in the medical field for 38 yrs I definitely know !!!!!! ..
I have NEVER witnessed such poor heath care in my life. My mom was there for rehab and had a terrible response to her medication. Her care and her health complications were repeatedly not documented in her chart by several healthcare professionals, resulting in the new medication she was supposed to get was not charted. Instead they kept continuing to give her the medication to her that was causing her to hallucinate. We pleaded with the head doctor to help fix the situation, and he refused. He was a terrible listener and paid no attention to the obvious signs.I would never allow anyone I care about to go to Bride Brook. It was not only disappointing, but it was so very scary and sad.We are now at a new rehab center and within hours of being on the right meds and receiving quality care, my mom is already doing amazing and recovering swiftly.
I am my grandmother’s power of attorney and health care advocate, I was so amazed by the attention, cleanness, professional attitude of Bride Brook Health Care. I know there are a lot of facilities in the area but I clearly made the right choice for my grandmother to receive her therapy. She is home now, back at the Senior Center, making meals for the Meals on Wheels and driving again. I would highly recommend this facility for anyone who may need rehabilitation or long term care. Thank you BB for the hard work and dedication you provide to each patient.
