2 months ago I posted a review. I also spoke with the facility's manager. As of today, August 9, 2018, I am still waiting for a return call which she stated would be immediate. I am finished trying to deal with this dump. I will be contacting the State to try to get these problems corrected for the comfort of someone else placed in this sorry excuse facility. My husband passed away not too long after being stranded there. I will always wonder if his weakened condition due to the poor care he received made it harder for him to fight. Again I was forced to "rate" this place. One star is again one star too many.
On a personal side most of the people here are friendly and seem to want to help. On a professional level they are among the worst we've ever experienced. No coordination between medical personnel, administrative and Therapy people. If your family member is critical and there is no family involvement they will die or certainly be back in the hospital. They talk a good game but don't be fooled what happens after you leave is far different that what occurs while you are there. The facility itself is a shamble. Smelling, crap on the floors, utilities not working in some areas. Minimal security. Almost anyone can come and go without challenge. Short staffed coupled to a business For profit only leads to dismal service, minimal staffing and medical people no one else would hire. Stay away if you can it's not a place to put your loved ones and expect them to be well again.
Some caring employees BUT this place was about as bad as it gets. My relative was there 19 days...only showered her on last day. 11 days-no sponge bath. Higher ups did not return calls until threatened with elder neglect charges. Disconnected relatives call button when they got annoyed. Let relative stay in same clothing for few days. Understand understaffed but this was definitely neglected. DO not ever place family here.
My experience with Atlantic Shores Rehab is a mixed review. My mother went there for rehab and the rehab center did a great job with her and she was happy with them. My only recommendation I would make is that the communication needs to be much better. Unless I made the call to check in or talk to her Social Worker which was great, I didn't get informed of what was going on even up to the point of her discharge. So Communication needs to be improved. I still want to thank Atlantic Shores for the care of her my mother because overall she was pleased.
