Furthermore, they show a commendable commitment to preventative care as seen by their high flu vaccination rate. I just finished a stay for a little more than two months at the Westerly Health Center. I must say this place was amazing well organized professional caring, communication was incredible follow up you name of this place has it going on. Everyone was happy every single moment everyone treat me with respect and compassion and they made me feel like I was part of the family. If you are in need of rehab or if you have an elderly person or parents that need to stay at a nursing facility this is the best place that I’ve seen ever. I’ve spent two other rehabs at other we have facilities and they don’t even come close to how great this place is . My room was kept very clean every day they wipe down every knob every handle swept mopped and disinfected everything the room was immaculate so wasn’t a place in the hallways in the cafeteria everywhere the food and beverage department did amazing job they were like clockwork delivering the beverages first and then some came a hot meal every single time the food was amazing the staff was very very accommodating so wasn’t the chef . Can’t say enough about the nurses every single nurse that I encountered took credible care of me and they were incredibly knowledgeable caring professional lots of experience couldn’t ask for a better staff administrative office often help me out with things paperwork printing mailing they were so accommodating and friendly they welcomed me in I wanna thank Sherry, Nancy, Devon, Alisa, Dominique, Carol, Rachel, Dave, Eileen, Crystal, Carrie, Christine, Jen, Shannon, Nicole, Prudence, Kathy, Eryka, Jordan, Kathleen, Donna, Stephany, Cathy, Eileen, Scott, Danielle, Tara, Talia, Doctor Sara,Rosemary, Chris, from maintenance was also amazing and his team was amazing, if there was a name that I missed I do apologize there’s so many great people there I couldn’t catch all the names or remember everyone. I wanna wish everybody a happy holidays and again I want to thank Westerly Health Center for being an incredible experience and I highly recommend Westerly Health Center to anyone in need. Thank you
My experience with my sweet mom that had dementia. Entered this facility 2 1/2 years ago. From the day she enter the facility I found there was lack of care and compassion. Mom suffered broken teeth, broken nose, numerous bruises and hospital visits that could’ve been prevented if people were watching her...The infection that I brought to their attention two weeks ago was probably an ongoing UTI that was let go far too long. By the time she was taken to the hospital by my request she also had pneumonia. Uncompassionate administrators, social workers. The new floor nurses seemed to care , but the head staff not soThey cleared her room out without contacting me on Saturday , day she died. Obviouslyi was at the hospital with her. I went in the next day Sunday, ( yesterday) to start getting her possessions. Walked into an empty room. The nurses said the paperwork work noted the family gave permission to empty the room. I am the only family she had.I asked for the written consent. There is None. When interviewing with this faculty to get your loved one in you’ll feel very welcomed and be shown the best of environments. Upstairs in dementia unit was dirty, residents in their rooms were mostly unattended. I found my mom sitting in feces and unwashed many times in her room aloneGo somewhere else if you care for your loved one 😥I have attached pictures on this review of mom’s injuries
My mom was a resident there. She turned 95 and the next night she had an unsupervised fall. She was legally blind with dementia. A nurse called me and said she had a fall so they were sending her to the hospital. It didn't sound serious. I was without a car and living in Warwick. The next morning when I arrived I was shocked on how I found my mom. On top of all this she was on cumidine and her count was 7 times higher than normal. Neglect was what the nurse told me. She died from injuries from the fall a week later.
