My mom has been at Village Gate for over a year now and loves her new home. I found the facility to be very well organized and the staff is very friendly and helpful to all the residents. The socialization she receives with other residents, her own age, has helped tremendously. She was living alone before, after my father passed, and was becoming very depressed from lack of company. Village Gate always has something for the residents to do, whether it be an ice cream social, trip to the casino, bingo, or holiday dances, there is something for everyone. The well balanced daily meals keep all the residents eating much better then if they we living alone. The facility is well kept and clean. I know my mom's health has improved tremendously in the last year and her personality is always upbeat now. We look forward to many more years with her now that she is at Village Gate.
I give two stars because the food is disgusting. The facilty and staff are wonderful but after over two years of gross food i cannot give higher rating. Everyone complains about it. The portions are small and meat is so tough elderly cannot even chew it. They serve so much pork. The quality is so poor. The dinner offerings are either sandwiches or some other tidbit. Imagine living here where you cant even look forward to a decent meal!
This place is beautiful, It is greatly maintained, a very clean, safe and inviting environment. My dad loves it here and he raves about the food! Thats huge for my dad! I rate all upper management staff with 10 stars. Any questions have always been dealt with with the highest level of professionalism always seeking the common good of the resident. Polite, courteous people who care about the people and their establishment. I would highly recommend this residence to anyone who wants the peace of mind knowing that their elder parent is in a safe, clean, place and well looked after. Thank you for what you do.
My mother used to live here and it is to old and outdated it had a funky smell to it everytime I came and the dinning is all over the place. My mother is at 5 start retirement home and the dinnng is so nice and perfusional and they serve a lot of option of food not just 3 like they have at VG and I found out that that server at night only work 2 hours and that is illegal they treat their workers unfair.
