I have worked with many facilities and by far this is one of greatest facility! Great place to work for! Corporate and administration stays true to their mission and vision. Residents are amazing and well taken care off. Staff will go above and beyond for you. You will build great working relationships.
My cottage was thoroughly renovated before I moved in, so it was like having a place that was totally new. What has impressed me the most is the strong sense of community among residents and the friendliness of the staff. I chose The Village because it just "felt right" when I first visited more than 4 years ago. It still feels right after living here for 5 months.
My parents moved to a cottage (independent living) in the Village at Summerville in 2001and fell in love with the friendly, caring community. Dad passed away in 2010 and Mom moved into the assisted living section several years later. She did very well there and died recently at age 105 1/2. She was able to remain in assisted living and was given all the help she needed.Hats off to the management and staff for protecting our loved ones from the Covid pandemic...a feat to be proud of.There have been many significant improvements to the facilities in Summerville over the years...its a wonderful place.
My mother tested positive for Covid at the Summerville rehab facility. She is recovering at the hospital but now they refuse to take her back. WHO says the facility where you infected should isolate and care for patients until they are fully recovered and test negative. Highly unethical.
Beautiful property, but watch out for their predatory business model where they ask you to list all of your parents assets and agree to periodic financial updates of their personal assets for potential payment of care. I am honestly surprised this is legal. And it is an especially disturbing practice for a "Christian" organization.
My father went here after open heart surgery for the short term rehab. He was walking fine leaving Roper after 6 days. Did Not take a single narcotic. Got checked in on a Friday. By Sunday morning, he couldn’t even walk or barely function they had him so drugged up. They not once took him out of the bed and let him rot all weekend. Come Monday morning, his heart rate was so low, we had to call the EMS ourselves, because the staff refused and wanted to wait on the doctor. Who by the way, we never saw all weekend, they only called in. He went back downtown to Roper and from his surgeons mouth was, “what the hell did they do to you there?” Looks can be deceiving, place was brand new. Check the DHEC report. It’s flooded with issues.
Did not have a good experience my cousin been in there going on two weeks I have not seen her doctor yet they kept give a run around on when the doctor comes in my cousin needed pain meds she gives it to another patient then the person giving out the meds laugh like it was a joke no that was no laughing matter.
I’ve worked here and absolutely loved it! I miss it all the time. The residents are amazing and the sweetest, the staff is amazing and great to work with. Everything about this place is just amazing. When the time comes for having to look for somewhere for family members this is my first choice!
It is a friendly, happy place to live. You can be independent but still looked after. No more cooking, housecleaning, yardwork, or worrying about fixing broken things. If you like hobbies or playing games there are many opportunities here every day. The best move we ever made. The Davis ‘
