Obviously, a name goes before every man and can be held in high or low regard. Throughout the scriptures, the names of individuals and places are meaningful, distinct, and often represent something of significance. Our name, Oaks Healthcare, is meaningful and significant for our work. It simply implies "In the Image of Christ". It is the foundation for whom we strive to emulate as a leadership team and as a company. It is the inspiration for our mission and values and shapes our vision for the future.
There's an old saying "Never mix politics or religion with business". We have found it difficult to turn off our faith and relationship with Christ when we come to work, so we have decided to push back against this prevailing cultural view. We never mix religion with business because it's not a religion for us. It is our identity as followers of Christ. We've made the decision to live out our faith not only at home and in our local community of believers but also at work. That's why we have this 'crazy' idea to build a company that is faith-centered, for-profit, and committed to providing an environment that is accepting of all, and open to discussion about our beliefs.
