After touring the facility and being reassured that it was nothing like a nursing home, I chose to place my father in the assisted living memory care unit. I use the term assisted living very loosely, because they assisted him the very least they possibly could. The staff would allow him to lie in bed for days, without any movement or activity. His food would be delivered and left on his tray, whether he could reach it or not. His clothing and bedding was constantly sploiled and most times misplaced, even though it was all labeled. Staff rarely ever checked on him, even though we were told that they were to make rounds every few hours. After 2 months of watching my father deteriorate, I chose to remove him from the facility. Since I did not give 30 days notice, they still charged us for the upcoming month. My father passed away exactly 2 weeks after leaving the facility. I notified Christy in the business office and even spoke with Rodney the executive director who reassured me that we would not be charged passed the date he had passed. It has been 11 weeks now and we have yet to receive a refund for the prepaid 2 weeks that my father did not occupy the room. No one has bothered to contact me or even follow up. There is such a high turnover rate and it is obvious why. Please do not torture your loved one by placing them in this careless, negligent facility. You will end up living with guilt and regret the same way I am.
Mom has been there almost seven months. After new management arrived the overall culture and food have not been good. The kitchen brought a scoop of salad to the memory care residents and the caregivers in memory care added what they had available. We appreciate the caregivers but this is a management problem. Half a hotdog, a cookie, ritz bits, granola. Management at its worst.
This community is the most welcoming, accommodating place by far! I have been to countless assisted living/memory cares in midland and Odessa, none of which fully met our needs the way The Courtyards has. The communication this team has makes it effortless when it comes to getting answers/solutions. The staff is very friendly, so welcoming, and its obvious they care. Highly recommended!
Hands down, THE WORST company I have EVER worked for. The management has no idea what they are doing (let residents fall and got them up with out even checking on them or sending them to the hospital) and most of the staff is incredibly rude and entitled. I had a manager accuse me of lying about a medical condition I’ve had over 10+ years of experience with and doctor’s notes to prove it. This company would rather keep people on staff who show up an hour late every day, knowingly lie about their hours, and those who constantly start drama within the community. Think twice before applying...guarantee you will be miserable after a few days. And this place wonders why they can’t keep people!
My father has been a resident at The Courtyards for 6 months now. The care staff has been so attentive, and the management team goes the extra mile to address any concerns! I would recommend this community to any family who is on the fence about making the transition for their lived one.
About a year ago we had my father in law stay here for a few days to see if he liked it and he really like it he said. He talked about The friends he made. The time came back in January that we needed to move him there permanently and he was still very happy with the place. My father in law is a very picky person most of the time when it comes to making friends and I know he developed some very close and meaningful friendships the short time he was there. Thank you to Bevin for being his buddy and thank you to Beatrice and Kristy and the rest of the staff that put in countless hours tending to his needs. I will always remember you and the care that you give our elders. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts
This place is amazing. We searched and searched for a community in midland and Odessa because this was such a huge decision and I can truly say that we found the right place. I wish we would have done this years ago because my uncle is so happy and is taken care of. The staff there have been so kind through everything and If I could give 10 stars I would.
