Overview of Professionals and Training
Our staff includes 3 physicians: Dr. Slaughter, Atkins, and Ortega; 2 Nurse Practitioners: Barbara and Justin; and a dedicated 24/7 care team consisting of a charge nurse, med aid, CNA, and wound care nurse. All staff members are required to complete Relias training year-round to ensure the highest quality of care.
Safety and Well-being Measures
To ensure the safety and well-being of our residents, we implement diligent rounds, ensure call lights are within reach, provide handicap accessibility, monitor for any changes in condition early, engage in care planning, and assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
Transition Resources and Support Services
Lydia, our Social Worker, ensures each resident has a safe discharge plan. This includes setting up home health services and ordering any required equipment for residents discharging home.
Transportation Services
Ashton offers transportation to specialty appointments in Midland or Odessa, facilitating access to necessary medical care.
Dining Experience
We provide breakfast, lunch, and dinner, along with snacks in between. An alternate menu is available daily. Each resident has a mini fridge in their room for personal items, in accordance with their dietary needs. Our dining options include a main dining area and 2 bistros.
Addressing Complaints and Issues
Residents can fill out a grievance form to address any complaints or concerns. These are discussed with the resident and in a morning meeting with all heads of Department to ensure prompt resolution.
Cost of Living
The cost for a semi-private room is $260 per night.
Communication with Residents' Families
We maintain regular contact with the primary contact by phone and in person. If the primary contact is unreachable, we contact the secondary contact to keep families updated on their loved ones' well-being.
Short-term and Respite Stays
We offer both short-term and respite stays. Medicare covers day 1-20 at 100% and day 21-100 at 80% with a qualifying hospital stay for skilled therapy. The cost for a respite stay is $260 per night.
Pet-Friendly Community
Ashton is a pet-friendly community, requiring an updated shot record for all resident pets.
Waitlist Information
We currently do not have a waitlist. Several of our skilled residents transition to long-term care within our community.
