I have been a resident here at The Blake for the past 6 months and I am Loving it! The activities here are wonderful and keeps us all busy, between crafts, musical entertainment and fun outings on the Bus. I like to take walks around the building and sit by the lake. There is a bench, I sit at with other residents and just enjoy the view, if weather is permitting. I am also getting more active each day and I owe a HUGE THank You to their in house OT/PT. They have been so wonderful working with me and getting me stronger. And The best part of all is My room with Lake views. I feel so relaxed and at home here.
I recently toured The Blake with my best Friend who is looking for their mom. I just came for moral support, but I couldn't believe how beautiful it was inside. The sales girl (I think her name was Mary) was very friendly and welcoming. We came during lunch time and she let us sample the food, it was so good! The residents really seemed to enjoy it too! I would highly recommend this place and I believe my friend is going to choose them as well!
I’m currently helping my mom look for options for my grandma. So far out of all the communities I toured in Summerville / Charleston area, this one stood out the most! This facility definitely had the most caring environment and nicest staff from what I saw.It smelled so clean which really stood out to me because other facilities didn’t smell as nice. While I was there, a musical performance was going on and the residents seemed to enjoy it. I feel like my grandma would love it here!
I have worked at the Blake at Carnes Crossroads for a few months and I am the happiest I have been. The team that is being built is one of compassion and caring. I love my interactions with all the residents and I am building some great relationships. I love all the activities that are planned and watching the residents participate and have fun makes my heart happy.
The staff here is incredible. Everyone from management, front desk, kitchen, and nurses are extremely friendly and helpful. They all go out of their way to make sure the residents are taken care of and happy. I always see the residents doing fun and engaging activities with the staff. Ive been in quite a few senior living developments and the atmosphere here is the best. They building has a modern feel, the rooms are the biggest I've seen, and they are more than equiped to handle any level of care.
I have been a resident here at The Blake at Carnes Crossroads since early April 2021. I have felt very safe here from day one. The staff members are so accommodating, patient and encouraging. I have grown very close to each one that have been involved with my care. The administrative personnel have been very attentive and make me feel like I'm with family. Even MaryBethany found out about my upcoming radiation treatments for cancer and she brought me a lovely bowl of snacks accompanied with the sweetest card. There is always someone around if I need a friendly smile or even someone to come and pray with me in the middle of the night. I feel safe , comforted and valued at The Blake and I can think of nowhere else I'd rather be.
I am the sales director here at The Blake in Carnes Crossroads, since January 2021. Hands down the BEST community I ever worked in! I would NOT be working here, if I didn't believe I could place my loved one here! We have been through some ups and downs, like all other communities have gone through, But we worked through it and it only made us 10x STRONGER as a Team! We truly care about All our Residents and want to make them feel like, they are Home! Word of advice, don't let a negative review from the past, stop you from coming in..The only way to get the real experience, is to come in person and meet some of our residents, who actually live here. You will also see how welcoming our staff is and how clean we keep our community (smells so good)
My mom was at the Blake for 13 months before she passed away. When she was diagnosed with cancer we had to make a decision quickly. Selecting her apartment at the Blake was truly the best decision we could have ever made. My sister and I believe we got to keep our mom for 13 more months because of what good care they took of her. The meals were very important to mom and she said they were better than her meals at home which is really saying something. Mom got weaker and weaker but the incredible nurses at the Blake took such great care of her. We just can't say enough good things about the Blake. We highly recommend the Blake for anyone who needs care for parent.
Use great care in choosing this Facility. They seem unable to keep management staff and have gone through at least 4 directors and 11 different management officials in the 3 years my mother was there. In addition, they do not generally meet the staff to resident ratios necessary to provide adequate care for the residents. The personal assistants are terrific and try to do their best, but they are significantly understaffed. When my mother fell, broke her hip and was transported to the ER I had not been able to visit with her due to COVID. No one informed me of her significant weight loss and it broke my heart that the ER doctor noted on the admission paperwork that she was “significantly malnourished.” All of our concerns were shared with Blake Management Corporate in a recent customer satisfaction survey. I have yet to hear anything from BMC. I have now retired and am now caring for my Mom in my home.
The Blake at Cranes Crossroads in Summerville SC is an answer to prayers for our sweet Mom.I toured the Blake and was greeted by everyone like a friend. I love their sweet staff. There are a few ladies that I feel like I have been friends with all my life. We clicked in minutes, and continue to grow in friendship circled around my precious Mom. They are attentive to the family and most importantly attentive to the needs of the residents. My sweet Mom is well cared for and loved. She always looks lovely when I visit and her smile tells meall I need to know. The Blake is clean, appealing, and offers the memory care residents lots of options to engage in activities. I love watching how the residents interact with the staff. There is lots of hand holding and intentional time set aside for the residents.I can have meals with my Mom, visit in her room or go for a walk all in the comfort of a team that is trained and equipped to help my Mom with any needs she might have. Any requests I have asked for have been honored and tended to.If you need a safe and sweet Memory Care experience for a loved one you should schedule a visit and talk with them. It might be an answer to your prayers too.Kind Regards,Terri
