Not enough staff . My sister is to be gotten up every other day to sit in wheelchair —- this happens occasionally. She has asked to get up some days and would be told they would see about it and never come back. Staff makes Polly feel guilty if she asks and even made some remarks to her like , “you are always the one complaining.”
Management will believe every lie told on staff members, suspend and then terminate them with no evidence. Corporate employees talk very hateful and condescending to staff here. Nurses that do not work the floor refuse to help out on the floor because " it is not their job" Would never recommend anyone apply here. Pruitt corporate lies to their employees and refuse to pay a promised bonus for working during code red covid19. If you test positive while working there, they will not pay you for a mandated quarantine and require you to use pto hours instead. Terrible employer.
My mother in-law was brought to this facility a month ago for rehabilitation from a car accident. My mother in-law was a paraplegic, so she was limited to the things she could do for herself. She was transferred here from Warm Spring Rehabilitations because of her Medicaid. This was a temporary until a facility closer to home would have an available bed, but due to Covid 19, she was here longer than we expected. From day one, my mother in-law has complained about being mistreated. She say they wasn’t bathing her and being mean to her. We spoke with her on a daily basis. We attempted many time to reach out to the nursing staff via phone calls and emails, but we didn’t receive any responses. On July 2nd, we received a call in reference to a referral we requested wanting to expedite my mother in-laws transfer. The nurse had somewhat of an attitude and she said they would get the referral process started. Sunday morning, July 5th sound 0530hrs, we received a call From the Greenville Coroner with sad news that my mother-in-law had passed. My wife was in shock being that she just had spoken to her mother the day before. The first question we ask is why did the coroner call us? Why didn’t the nursing home reach out to us? As my wife patiently waited for a phone call from them, it never came. She called that afternoon asking questions of what happened and no one could tell her anything. The only news we did receive was that her mother in-law passed on the 4th, the night prior to the call we received from the Greenville Coroner. At this present time, we still have not received a call from the nursing home with an explanation nor offering condolences. We know something isn’t right, but they haven’t heard the last of it. Whatever it is, the Coroner and all are in it together. Please do not use this facility.
My mother was in this nursing home until she was strong enough to go home since she insisted on living alone. The first interaction I had with a staff member was a nurse. I rang the bell for assistance and there is a light that comes on outside the room. No one came. After 15 minutes I stepped out in the hall and a nurse was passing by. I asked what the procedure was for getting help. She said everyone has learned to ignore the bell and the light.Later, I am called into the office to say that my mom was supposed to leave on Sunday. They said that she told them her insurance said she was supposed to stay 3 more days. What medical staff person is not familiar with sun-downing in patients?I asked that my mother be released immediately. The nurses gave me instructions to take my mother directly to an emergency room because her labs are "off". I asked why they didn't just send her. They claimed they had already discharged her, but I still had to wait. I asked for her release at 11:30 AM and didn't leave with her until 8:00 PM. So, at noon, you hadn't discharged her yet.My mom passed out while getting into the car and they had to call an ambulance to take her to the emergency room. After checking her in, the doctor informed me that she was dying because her kidneys were failing. 20 minutes after they treated her, her urine was normal and she was alert. For weeks while I lived 3 states away, they brought her 3 meals, saw that she didn't eat anything, and did nothing about it. People who wanted look after her did do until she was sent to this facility because it was so far outside Atlanta. They were going to see her, but not enough. However, my mom should not need watchdogs when she is in someone's care. These people are horrible.
Patients are not bathed. Bed sheets rarely changed. Patients clothes are not washed they also do not monitor changing of clothes or personal hygiene. Bathrooms are not clean dirty towels and wash cloths scattered about. Patients wellbeing is not monitored apparently no consideration is given to pain management. I am reporting this facility to the State Of Georgia.
