Both my dad, and my mom before him stayed at Palm Garden of Clearwater and we have nothing but wonderful things to say about the facility and it's staff. Everyone went out of their way to take such good care of both my parents and the staff became like family to us. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs care and rehab for their elderly loved ones. If I could give them 10 stars. I certainly would.
I don't even know where to begin. This is the most unprofessional bunch I have witnessed. To the lack of care to the attitudes with many excuses main one being we are short staffed. They didn't do mouth care till I asked if it was done? She was there over a week. I provided everything so I was aware it never had been used. Then I asked about her shower noone knew. I knew then it was time to document everything they did wrong. 5 out of 7 days we would visit and her Oxygen was empty she was always left alone at the nurses station when socials were going on. Music, ice cream etc. I would ask why ? Noone knew. Noone knows nothing but to say were short staffed. 7 weeks with them and she lost every skill and her life she went in Feb 21 2018 and passed away April 12 2018. With them she struggled to breath, was left alone with breathing treatments that she would put on the floor that she NEEDED she had ammonia. Lost her ability to walk when she walked the building the 2 Nd day there with therapy. And walked all the way up to being there a for a week. She couldn't feed herself due to the heavy dose of antidepressants she was put on. She was left in her room with no TV on curtain pulled alone. Or at nurses station while everyone was enjoying social time this place was a true orphanage for elderly people. It's do or die there !!! And my little lady died. U have to be there the full 24 hrs a day to make sure your family member is cared for properly. Mine definitely wasn't. And as much as I place blame on the CNA it was the whole team all the way to the administrator who got involved when dcf was involved. Shit hole at its finest. Shame on them. Stay away. A bunch of evil ass women with fake smiles. Noone even knew about this ???? Someone knew
The staff here is attentive and friendly. Good food, good food choices. Really good activities, too. There is no "nursing home smell" either! I have a lot of experience with nursing homes and I would definitely recommend Palm Gardens. Thank you so all for the hard, hard and thankless job you do. Keep up the good work.
While my 86 yr old mother was here the cleaning help STOLE from her when she was out for treatments they would go through her purse, They do ask that you have no cash but you know moms. They took $60.00. The ethnic workers were treating the white elderly very bad, One was heard to say damn old white people ..this place is the WORST, it should be shut down
Palm Garden of Clearwater is an absolutely amazing facility! I cannot say enough wonderful things about their rehab program. I brought my 77 year old father here at the end of April after a fall that left him unable to get out of bed. He was seriously injured and we were afraid he would never walk again. The physical and occupational therapists worked a miracle with daily treatments and he is now able to walk on his own!! The entire nursing, CNA, kitchen, and administrative staff went out of their way to make my father feel comfortable and loved. When my father grew restless, the Assistant Director, Paul, would take time out of his busy schedule and play a game of chess with him. We were actually very sad to leave, but were so grateful that he had reached an unimaginable goal of walking again. I can't thank Nick, Director of Guest Services, to Bailey at the front desk, Joanne in business services, Karen and Wanda in social services, the entire PT and OT team: Keith, Dave, Isa, the amazing medical team Lauren, Iva, Dawn, Cody, Tyler, and so many more for the compassion, dedication and professionalism they show every day. If someone you love needs rehab, this is the place you want them to be!
I highly recommend Palm Gardens of Clearwater for your rehabilitation needs. After a long illness I had been to two other rehab facilities before arriving here that did not come close to the quality of care I’ve received here from the moment I arrived. It is the cleanest, prettiest facility I have been in.Every member of the staff is concerned with your wellbeing. The nursing staff is caring and compassionate. The CNAs help to keep your spirits up whether you’re lonely, or just sick and tired of being sick and tired. All of them are always patient and ready to answer any of your question while taking great care of your health needs. . The therapists are incredible. Their knowledge and dedication to you reaching your best possible outcome is inspirational. They brighten any room they enter. They make your therapy sessions entertaining and fun. Sometimes the time passes so quickly but the hard work is evident by the gains made. The administration is as helpful as every other member of this amazing group. Should you use your call light for assistance, you never know who will pop their head in to offer their help. The social work team is ready to answer your questions and help prepare for your future. The building is well taken care of as well. It is spotless. I also need to mention the kitchen staff as well as John the manager. He took the time to learn about my severe food allergies and worked with the nutritionist so I was able to enjoy meals without frustration or disappointment. Kudos to the kitchen staff who prep and plate delicious meals for so many.Every member of this staff is a cheerleader. When working with therapists there are at least 2-3 comments from random staff members on how well your doing, how nice you look, or praise for the progress being made.If you’re looking for a facility that is well run and pleasant to recuperate in Palm Gardens of Clearwater is the place for you!
The care and rehab my mother received at Palm Garden of Clearwater was excellent. Here is the story behind the story.I traveled to Florida from Massachusetts on January 29th with my 83 year old mother to visit family. Four days into our trip my mom fell and broke her hip. A rod was surgically implanted in the right hip. Initially everything appeared to be healing well. Unfortunately, the rod eventually shifted because the bone collapsed due to her osteoporosis. During the height of the corona virus my mother needed a second surgery. This surgery was to remove the rod that was initially inserted, and do a total hip replacement. On April 9th, the hip replacement surgery went perfectly. When it came time for my mother to move from the hospital to a rehab facility, I chose Palm Garden of Clearwater this time. I cannot speak highly enough about the management, the staff and the care my mother received. The admissions process was seamless. I was very impressed by the strong protocols in place due to the corona virus. It gave me a great sense of relief especially since I could not go inside to visit. I cannot speak highly enough about the communication and follow-up from the director of admissions, the nursing staff, the physical therapist, the wellness staff etc. I was always provided with timely communication. Whenever someone followed up on something for me, I always heard back in a timely manner. The corona virus created so many challenges for everyone. But the corona virus did not deter the many wonderful staff that went above and beyond to take care of my mother and helped her rehab and get back on her feet. Many staff did so many little things to lift her spirits and brighten her days. They also provided continual reassurance that my mother was making progress. They helped build her confidence. Sometimes all it takes is for someone to take that extra minute or two to listen and show they care. Palm Garden Management and the staff demonstrated to me and my mother that they care deeply. When my mother was discharged, she could do something she had not done in a long time. She was able to stand on her feet and walk, walk with a smile, and walk with confidence. My mother, my family and I cannot thank the staff at Palm Garden of Clearwater enough for everything they did to help my mother get through one of the most difficult journeys our family has had to endure. We send our Blessings to the entire staff at Palm Garden of Clearwater. Thank you Amber, Nick and the entire staff.
This is the most amazing place. My Mom was here for over a month after hip surgery and a stroke. It is so clean and the food is great. I ate lunch with her everyday and you have several choices, my compliments to the chefs. But by far the best thing I can say about Palm Garden is about the staff. The nurses and aides were beyond fantastic. Truely caring people, professional and quality care. If I was to ever need rehab I would not hesitate to come here. Thank you for everything!
Don’t be fooled by a clean smell and nice photos online. If you can’t be a watch dog family member DONT leave your parent here! They will lay in bed 23 hours and develop other problems. Discharged my mom to Manor Care Palm Harbor where the facility may not be as updated, but let me just say....she NOW receives excellent rehabilitation care and the communication with Manor Care staff has been outstanding. Night and day experience! Palm Gardens will never see my mom again and after this past week this review was mandatory to write. Thanks for putting our family through hell week.
My mother was just discharged from Palm Garden after spending almost ten weeks there, following surgery. My Mom, and our family were extremely happy with the care that she received there. The staff from the top on down was caring and compassionate. The medical care and rehabilitation were top- notch. Even the food was better than we expected. This was a very stressful time for all of us and we didn't have a lot of time to make a decision or very many choices for that matter, but we got very lucky, because I don't see how we could have made a selection that was better for us than Palm Garden.I would without hesitation recommend this place to a friend or love one. Nobody wants to put a loved one into a facility, but if you are in such a situation, you should be confident knowing that your loved one will receive the best care possible.
