While most of my stay was ok. There are times where it seems it takes longer to get a call tell answered. One day my pain level excelled to a 10 and I waited all day to get my iceman refilled and need pain medication to relieve it. Staff were busy elsewhere on the floor. They need more staff
DO NOT send your loved ones here. I wouldn’t send my worst enemy here. They do not staff enough CNAs on their skilled unit to effectively get things done and maintain patient safety. They expect 2 CNAs to wash, dress, take weights, clean rooms, empty linen bags, etc. etc. for 24 patients and have time to answer bells, it’s absurd. The nurses even if they knew the first thing about patient care don’t have time to help because they’re up to their eyeballs in electronic charting because they are constantly reminded “if this isn’t done we don’t get paid”. CNAs are constantly having to pacify residents for the lackluster care provided to them. It’s a shame. Wouldn’t know where housekeeping is, there’s dirt in every corner of every room with all kinds of dried god-knows-what on the floor of every room. I haven’t seen one clean toilet in this building. CNAs are left without enough PPE to properly gown and glove into necessary rooms because laundry can’t keep up with the usage. And just to really pile it on like the CNAs arent stretched thin enough, Infection Control comes in and nit picks at things they don’t have time to worry about because they’re in too much of a rush to care about it and speaks to the CNAs in a way like they’re just too lazy to do it. If you want your loved ones to get the attention and care that they NEED, do NOT send them to Oak Grove. It’s shameful.
Patients are confined to the rooms, cannot walk the halls w walkers to gain stamina— my mother was there for a month before I pulled her out... visits are once weekly if you are able to schedule one of the 7 appointments each day for 85 residents. The room was never cleaned, dusted or mopped, and 3 garbage cans were overflowing! My mother was there for rehab and after her admission it took five days before it began! Rehab facilities were closed and she was limited to rehabbing in her room only....Also, Very limited enrichment for patients other than the television and an occasional phone call from family & friends. My mother found this place depressing and inept for her rehab purposes— I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this facility!
My Mom did several rehab stints at Oak Grove over the years and spent the last year of her life there as a resident. The staff took wonderful care of her and were patient with her through out each of her stays! They went out of their way during the Covid lockdown to provide ways for us to be in touch with her and provided the nurturing we couldn't. She always raved about how great the food was!
I have worked here for 3 years on the evening shift. To be honest, Sometimes we have some staffing issues and challenges but that doesn’t stop us CNA’s, the management are great and we do our best and get thru the evening!! The residents are awesome and they are treated very good! Oak grove is a good place to work! I have enjoyed working here and taking care of the residents, they are like family!! ♥️Very Positive, clean environment.... ♥️
My mother has resided at Oak Grove since 2006 and has had a wonderful overall experience. As with any residency her time at Oak Grove has not been without challenges; the staff and administration have bent over backwards to meet my mothers needs and do right by she and her peers in residence. I can't say enough about their efforts and value what it has done for my mother's quality of life and all it has brought to my family.
as far as i know his care is okay, my complaint is that i called them 2 days in a row, asking please call me back so i can talk to my dad...twice i left messages but nobody could take 2 minutes to ring his room, pick up his phone & hand it to him.when i did finally get thru i wasnt very nice but managed to keep my cool. she put him on the phone & he wasnt making sense due to his dementia..but she took the phone & hung it up in my ear...she could have at least said he's not up to talking tonight. anyway i will call the administrator monday.
the staff sucks and are rude. they left my mother in law sitting in her own mess for 45 minutes before they went in to her. she asked for a glass of water one day, while I was visitng and it took 45 minutes to get that until I went and complained. Nurses are suppose to keep there nails short and no polish one had nails that almost curled under and they were polished. i would not put my worst enemy there
