Meadow Mills is a memory care community that was purpose-built in Hamden, Connecticut. Hamden is known as “the land of the sleeping giant” because of the picturesque mountaintop that resembles a large man lying in repose. Meadow Mills is nestled between Dixwell and Whitney avenues on a tree-lined street and located directly across from the Whitney Center. It’s easily accessible to Route 15 and I-95 and just a few miles from Yale-New Haven Hospital’s St. Raphael Campus.
Our quaint little community is made up of four different neighborhoods, each with 15 residents who have their own private furnished rooms complete with bathrooms. This allows for a more peaceful environment for neighbors to enjoy. Each neighborhood provides a homey environment, complete with living spaces and a dining experience.
Our lovely outdoor area is teeming with beautiful gardens, providing a private and secure space for residents and their families to enjoy. The walking paths throughout the area are designed to lead back to the community, so that no one ever feels lost. In addition to the relaxing walking paths, gazebos, and outdoor patio, residents and their families can also enjoy our free-range chickens and raised gardens, where they can plant and maintain herbs and vegetables.

This place is beautiful & clean, does not resemble a nursing home at all! 99% of the staff is great although I do see some aides sitting doing nothing when they should b socializing n tending to the patients, that's my only complaint. I have full confidence that my mom is well taking care of n love they're activities and get togethers. Thank you for àll u do for my mom even though at times she can b very difficult! Thank you all! ❤
You don't bring someone here that you love if you want them to be cared for properly. A lot if inexperienced aides that don't know what they are doing. Trying to. Get my brother out... I need to comment further that my brother required more skilled nursing and that is why I felt he was not taken care of properly. The surroundings are clean and and decorated attractively and staff for the most part and friendly and caring. You just need to do more research on what you need . Did not mean to downgrade the community.. it just isn't what we need.
