Employee Reviews for Legacy Retire
2.75 out of 5 stars. Based on 4 reviews
Overall, employees have mixed reviews about working for Legacy Retire Pros. On the positive side, there is flexibility and the ability to work between departments, as well as covered parking. On the negative side, there is complacency in management, employees are allowed to "no call, no show" and still keep their jobs, and residents are allowed to harass the employees. Advice to management includes hiring and training better managers, letting go of employees who do not follow the mission of the company, creating a safe atmosphere for employees to tell management the negative side of working there, and being more accessible to the employees. Additionally, employees have noted favoritism and disrespect in some departments, as well as low starting pay and lack of raises.By clicking "Get Exact Costs", you agree to our Partner's Terms of Use. My Grandpa is so happy living at Legacy of Southern Hills, which makes me happy. They don’t miss a beat there and everyone is so friendly. He stays so busy with activities, it’s almost like he’s gotten younger living there. Thank you to everyone for making him feel welcome and happy again.
We moved our Father into this assisted living residence and it is just wonderful! The ambience is new, homey and warm. The care staff are caring, patient and positive as are the folks in Security. The management staff, specific to Barbara and Kelli are great. We couldn't ask for anything better for this 91yr. oldThey also have if needed besides assisted living is the addition of 24 hour memory care. From a reference perspective, he was at Oakmont and their rating is poor.
Today I had the pleasure today of speaking to Dee Foster, the Activities Director for this facility. I do not remember ever speaking to a senior community staff member who is so compassionate about her job as this woman. She literally loves what she does - ministering to the residents at Legacy House. My first reaction to Dee was simple: This is the kind of facility I would want my friends and relatives to enjoy because I know they would receive excellent care. If the rest of the staff at this facility enjoys their work half as much as Dee, the residents must be getting great care!
I see Legacy House had my review taken down - be suspicious of any care home that seemingly has all 5-star ratings. Both my parents lived here in 2020. My father had a horrendous end of life and formal complaints were filed with the licensing board, thanks to the Southern Nevada long term care ombudsman's office. Beware of this place and visit other sites for more authentic reviews (like on Caring dot com).
I recently moved my mom to Legacy House of Southern Hills and it was such a hard decision. It took a few trips there and several conversations with Kellie, who is wonderful, before I was able to make the decision. Since being at Legacy, I have felt heard and supported. The staff there is wonderful, caring, and friendly. They work together as a team and communicate so well. I always feel welcome, and my mom is getting the care I hoped for and was just not able to get at her previous assisted living facility. Shout out to Dee, the activities director, who treats mom like a sister and really goes above and beyond. So happy to have this gem looking out for my mom. Thank you to all the staff! You are all truly the best.
I am so glad I found this beautiful facility for my mother to live in. It was a hard decision to make, but I had great guidance with Kellie’s help. She is wonderful. Barbara is also wonderful and both respond to emails and phone calls fairly fast with my many questions I have. My mom seems to enjoy the staff and residents. I feel confident in the facility to know my mom is safe and in good care. - Elizabeth
My mom was a temporary resident of Legacy House of Southern Hills (LGSH). After a couple of weeks, there was no doubt we had found the best new home for her! The facility is beautiful and very clean. However, it is the staff that sets LHSH apart from the others. Their genuine kindness to each and every resident goes up and beyond standard care. They have been very communicative with our family, which has been impairative during COVID. They helped our family during a difficult transition. We feel very blessed to have our mom at Legacy House of Southern Hills.
Finding a place to put your loved one into when they can no longer take care of themselves is a very hard and stressful process. I had toured over a dozen memory care/assisted living facilities and not one even came close to comparing to Legacy. Legacy House made the entire process so easy and reassuring! I can't even begin to explain how much of a blessing Legacy House has been to me and my family. It is an absolutely breathtaking facility that has the best staff imaginable (especially those in memory care) who really care about their jobs, as well as taking care of our loved ones and giving them the best experiences possible. Just in the short amount of time my father has been there, I can see a complete difference in him and how truly happy he is now. I can't thank Kellie enough, who helped me in every single way possible! She always answered my phone calls or texts right away when I had any questions (and I had A LOT) and really guided me through this entire process! Legacy House is truly the MOST AMAZING memory care/assisted living facility that goes above and beyond.
My sister and I did on site visits for memory care centers in Las Vegas relating to our stepmom. Although my dad was not ready to move my stepmom into a facility, we wanted to be “prepared!” As soon as we stepped into Legacy House of Southern Hills, took a tour with Kellie Ricci, we realized this was our facility of choice! It was unbelievable. It reminded us of living on a cruise ship without the water! We would never put a family member in a facility that we wouldn’t want to be in ourselves! One year later, my dad had no other choice, but to put our stepmom into a facility and Legacy House of Southern Hills it was! We seriously could not have made this move for either of them without Kellie since both of us live out of state and we needed to navigate our dad through this life changing process. We never regretted our decision and Kellie (along with the entire staff) were unbelievable.Cindy (Salt Lake City, Utah)Linda (Bullhead City, Arizona)
My 98 year old mom has resided at Legacy House of Southern Hills for eight months. I rated Legacy House five stars for many reasons including cleanliness, friendly, caring and professional staff, beautiful environment and a varied menu of delicious and nutritious meals. Mom loves the library, the puzzle room, the theatre and the fact that there is a beauty shop on the premises, not to mention the social activities including bingo and entertainment. I think my family and I made the best choice for her care.
This beautiful slice of Heaven called Legacy of Southern Hills has brought a tremendous amount of piece of mind to our family. Our precious dad at 92 has lived here for a year now in great comfort. He receives so much love and care from the staff! The facility itself is the best I’ve seen and his individual apartment is nothing short of perfection. The staff from maintenance, to med management, caregivers, administrators dining staff and activity directors are fantastic. Most notably, Barbara Gottlieb, Director and Kelli Ricci, Leading Director are two shining stars who make it all so. Barbara leaves nothing undone even if she rolls up her sleeves and jumps in to make it happen. She cares very deeply about each and every resident and each and every employee working for her. Professional, kind, funny and compassionate all rolled into one! Kelli is nothing short of phenomenal. Her warmth, personality and energy brightens up her presentation of this lovely facility and then shortly you realize she knows everyone as if they’re her family or close friends. She stands on her head to make everything work and everyone happy. You leave there with a smile on your face and warmth in your heart knowing your loved one is truly in the best place. I am sincerely and forever grateful to them for helping to make my dad’s final phase of his life a joyous and loving experience.
Truly a blessing to find this place to help my father in a time of need for all of us in helping him to be safe and cared for while he heals. Kellie is the angel that we count ourselves lucky to have met. The staff has been warm and welcoming and made this transition as easy as it could be in such a stressful time. The aesthetic and environment is tastefully and functionally designed.
This is the nicest and best managed assisted living facility in Las Vegas. The building is brand new and the staff is incredible. You will not find a better place to live. The Food Is prepared like a 5 Star RestaurantMy father is so busy attending activities he is rarely in his apartment.
I had the pleasure of touring Legacy House of SH because of a family friend that works there. I must tell you that not only was I impressed with the exterior appearance of the community, I was impressed with what I experienced upon entering the building. I felt as though I had walked into a resort. The staff was pleasant and welcoming. I kept telling myself, if only my mother had the pleasure of having this type of community available to her, that would have been a dream come true. Legacy house has thought of EVERYTHING to help the residence live a comfortable and yet fulfilled life from the experienced health care professional available to numerous events held weekly, beautiful dining commons that feels like a restaurant at a strip resort, game nights and outings if the residents so desire. Definitely a property I could see myself living at should that time come where I can not live on my own. Well done Legacy House.
I took my kiddo to Legacy House for their Trick or Treat Event on October 29th 2019. Let me just tell you, the event was Amazing! My kiddo loved spending time with the senior residents there, I mean who wouldn't love hanging out with a bunch of Grandpas & Grandmas?!? Super impressed with all the effort the staff put in to make sure we had a good time. Looking forward to the next event!!!!
My mom Elsa Ingordo has been a resident in the memory care unit at legacy house for the past month. She has been treated with patience n dignity. She needs alot of assistance. The staff r kind n efficent. The atmosphere is beautiful n homey. My mom says she lives in a "classy" place. The admins Kelli n Barbara n Kim have made her n my transition from NY easy. My family n I have only recently moved to LV. I. I'm so happy I found legacy house.
I looked at many facilities for my mother before choosing this one. In the end, it was an easy decision for us to select Legacy as a standout. We chose it not for the beautiful ambiance, but that surely was a factor!. Yes, the place is just beautiful. But the main reason we chose Legacy was because the people that take care of the residents are extraordinary. The people that work there make the place what it is; each and every one of them, each and every day. I cannot tell you how at ease I am knowing that the atmosphere is warm, friendly, caring, compassionate, and a lot of fun for the residents to live on a daily basis. If you are looking for a place that your loved on will be safe, well taken care of, and have a wonderful full daily life, you cannot find a better place. My mother truly loves it, and so do I. Best decision we could have made. This is not just where my mother lives, but it has become her 'home'. I cannot thank the staff at Legacy enough for all they do.
Anyone who has experienced the difficulties of Family members transitioning from Independence to Assisted Living know it can be very stressful. As the Child of two very independent and self sufficient Parents, I couldn't have anticipated the outcome of this life change as anything other than a negative experience and the beginning of a low point in a lifetime. I couldn't have been more wrong and, couldn't have done it with such ease, without the incredible assistance of the entire staff of the Legacy House. From the move in to the daily activities, I can't imagine a more positive, patient and competent group of professionals to enhance the overall experience of their new home. In hindsight, my Parents couldn't be happier, they've made wonderful Friends, and are more active now then they've been in years. It turned out to be the best decision we've made as a Family for the Family and Legacy House was the best opportunity for this to become a reality.
