Lakeland House is a 39 apartment Senior Living Community dedicated to caring for seniors. Located in beautiful Athens Texas claimed birthplace of the hamburger in the late 1880’s. The first hamburger was served by Uncle Fletcher Davis in a small café on the courthouse square.
Lakeland House and the Residents that call Lakeland “Home” are leaders in the community and play an active role supporting charities such as the East Texas Crisis Center, Keep Athens Beautiful and many other community outreaches. Lakeland House are also members of the Chamber of Commerce and the Kiwanis Club.

Lakeland House is not closed as is published. It is now managed by Veritas InCare, LLC and offers a warm, home-like setting with caring staff, and a van for outings and appointments in Athens.
Staff treats residents with the care and compassion they deserve, as if they were their own family members.
Great staff, great food, great facility. Great aunt stayed in the respite room and she didn't wanna go back home.
