Mom has been at La Cruz Senior Care for over 4 years and she is well taken care of. In fact shes turns 100 this year! I have to give the staff at La Cruz credit for taking such good care of her. It is a very new, clean, spacious and loving environment. Everyone treats her like an important part of the "family". They have gone above and beyond meeting her needs and wishes. Mom loves gardening so they built her a little planter box and she grows tomatoes, squash, cucumbers and onions. They even make her feel helpful and let her fold clothes and towels when she wants to. Everything is family oriented. They sit and have meals all together and the parties and special holidays are fabulous! We are always cheerfully invited to visit any time and there are no restrictions when we want to take her on an outing.I would highly recommend this senior care facility for anyone who wants to feel at ease that your loved one is being well taken care of.
Mom has been at La Cruz for almost 5 years now. She turns 100 this year and I credit it to the loving care she gets at La Cruz. This is a newer home built as a care facility. It is clean, spacious and affordable. Mom gets individual care and they go out of their way to meet her needs and wishes. They even built her a little garden box so she has a garden and grows tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, and onions (this year). They make her feel helpful by letting her fold clothes when she wants to. When she feels "lazy" they let her nap, watch TV or do word searches. Sometimes they have someone come in and do a manicure/pedicure for those that would like to be pampered. When we take Mom out for special events they fix her hair (color and curl). This always makes Mom feel special. They never insist she do anything she doesn't want to. During meals they all eat "family style" at the large dining room table. They have fabulous parties and special events. They decorate the living area during the holidays and sometimes the guests do art projects to add to the festivities. Everyone seems to get along very well. Mom does get "bored" because she is the most talkative of the group. Most of the care givers will spend time talking to her when they have time and we are allowed to visit or take her out anytime. If you are looking for a care facility for your loved one, I would recommend La Cruz Senior Care!!
La Cruz like many senior care facilities appears very nice on the outside The rooms are large & nice.Unfortunately they are not qualified in advanced dementia & present as tho they are.As a loved one of someone suffering from this debilitating disease, i learned that the patients get only one bath not two a week as promised. Upon close observation fingernails were hygienically very dirty & personal hygiene extremely poor. Most unethically & reprehensibly, the Owner & staff members speak negatively & complain about our loved ones in FRONT of the patient as a “non entity”.In spite of the dementia decline there are periods of cogency & they are still human beings who deserve fundamental dignityThis facility needs a major integrity check & perhaps a RE-EVALUATION of QUALIFICATIONS by the State of CA & the Attorney Generals office as to what services they claim they are licensed & certified to promote.I would have naturally assumed that any conversation pertaining to a resident would have been in a professional office setting, doors closed.I would unequivocally NOT RECOMMEND La Cruz Senior Care.Pretty on the outside is not an honest reflection of the inside
