Wait List and Apartment Availability
I currently have 1 person on my wait list. It depends on the apartment someone wants. I have a couple coming open in April.
Assisted Living Staffing
In our assisted living, our Director of Nursing is an LPN. We also staff CNA - Certified Nursing Assistants and CMT – Certified Medication Techs. We do not have a Nurse in the building 24 hours.
Safety and Security
At Kingswood, we have 24-hour Patrol, each apartment has a pull cord in the bathroom and bedroom. Assisted Living residents also wear a pendant that they can push to ring staff when they have needs.
Transition and Therapy Services
As far as transition, everyone is different. We are able to provide Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy if needed to help with transition, needed equipment. We have a full-time Chaplain to help if needing someone to talk, spiritual help. Activities and staff are great about going to the apartment and encouraging participation in activities and outings.
Transportation Services
We do have transportation services, a small fee applies.
Dining Options
I have attached a sample menu. There are lots of options and choices. Assisted Living has their own dining room and is the same menu and options as Independent Living. They also have the ability to go over to Independent Living dining room if they choose and can get themselves there.
Administration and Nursing
Our Administrator and our Director of Nursing are readily available to discuss concerns with our families and residents. We also have a resident council that meets once per month.
Cost and Pricing
Cost depends on the size of the apartment and level of care of the resident. I have attached our pricing sheet.
Family Communication and Care Plans
Families are notified by nursing on a regular basis of changes in medication, falls, etc. Quarterly Care plans take place between nursing staff/resident/family. More frequent care plans can happen with family request. The family has information to email or call our Administrator and Director of Nursing any time. Activity calendars are emailed to families monthly.
Short Term/Respite Stays
We do offer short-term/respite stays if I have availability. See the pricing sheet for cost. 2-week minimum.
Pet-Friendly Community
We are a pet-friendly community and have pets that visit. If a resident in AL has a pet, they have to be able to care for it. I don’t currently have anyone who has and is able to care for a pet. We have lots of pets in Independent Living.
Health Clinics
Yes, we have done annual flu clinics and COVID when available.
Age in Place
We are able to Age in Place here at Kingswood as we also have Skilled Nursing (Long Term Care). The resident may not be able to stay in Assisted Living if needs get too high but can transition to our Skilled Nursing.
