My father recently moved into Kauai Care Center. My family chose this care home based on visiting the site and the opinion of knowledgeable, professional friends on Kauai. This has been an emotional transition for our family, yet we are confident that we made the right decision in choosing Kauai Care Center. The director, Liza, is compassionate, intelligent, friendly and highly professional. Her staff is happy, thoughtful and professional. I spent a week visiting my father every day and by the end of my visit, I was sad I had to leave. I never would have believed it if someone told me I'd enjoy sitting around a senior care facility for a week. But I did. And now that I'm back home, I really miss the place (and my dad, of course!) My dad keeps telling me I should get a job there. : )The location is perfect. It is just one block off the main street going through Waimea. There are great local businesses a short drive away that make for a perfect day field trip. The staff is very accommodating of my dad having visitors, getting an occasional phone call and taking little trips out during the day (with family). My dad has had to adjust to his new home and the staff/director listen to his concerns and take action to make him as comfortable as they can. Additionally, the facility is super clean. The bedrooms, beds, bathrooms, towels, eating areas, common areas...etc. were all spotless. My dad complains that they wash his clothes too often. He would wear the same pair of jeans for a week if it were up to him.My family is thankful to everyone at Kauai Care Center for taking care of my dad and helping him through this difficult transition from living at home to living in a care facility. The social interaction and around the clock medical care have been invaluable in improving the quality of my dad's life.In much appreciation, aloha

They re-hired CNA's that were fired for being abusive. Administrator and DON are corrupting the facility, understaffed, lots of people quitting because of management corruption.

My Dad was sent there for 6 weeks of rehab. The side that he was on was an older facility, but the entire staff is compassionate & caring to both the residents and family members. I live out of state and went there to check on him for myself. I was sad that I had to leave before he finished rehab, but I knew he was in good hands.
