Facility is old and run-down, rooms (bathrooms in particular) very small with extremely cheap furniture. Constant issues with lighting, heat/air and door alarms. Turnover is extreme and one never knows who will be working or when, no consistency. Activities are minimal with little interest and tend to be religious based. Physical therapy and actual health care is excellent however.
We were forced to place our dad in a long term care facility last week due to his declining health and need for 24/7 care. This place and the people that work here have been wonderful. They call me with updates, and are as concerned about him as we are. This was a hard decision. The kindness of the staff, all staff including administrator to housekeeping, truly makes this difficult time much more bearable.
I really wanted to like the nursing home end. The staff was courteous and kind, however this place really seems outdated. The rooms were not the cleanest. The equipment was rather old. Management was more concerned about sending my mother home way before she was ready. There was no one that was concerned about getting her the help she needed before she got sent back home.
Our mother has been here since end of July 2016. She's on the nursing home side. The people here are great and very loving. As I write this I am sitting next to mom as she is dying. We have hospice coming and the wonderful staff here are taking great care of mom. They also are very helpful to my siblings and myself during this very difficult time. Thank you all!!!!
When my father was unexpectedly hospitalized in Arkansas, leaving my mom with Alzheimer’s with no caregiver, my sisters and I didn’t know what to do, as we all live in the Pacific Northwest. It was impossible to get there in less than 36 hours and we were frantic, since she needs 24/7 care. A wonderful neighbor in Fairfield Bay recommended IRV, and even took mom there. I talked to them on the phone and they were so wonderful, immediately offering options that worked for mom’s best interests until we could get there. Everyone we dealt with was professional and sympathetic and went above and beyond to help during this crisis. Mom is now in a facility close to us, but I honestly wished I could just pick up IRV and its staff and bring it back to the NW with us. I can not recommend them enough.
