This is written by our resident, Chuck M., I have lived at Glen Mills Senior Living for 9 years. My favorite thing is really the people who come to help me and take care of things here. I really like all people and friends I’ve made over the years. My family is close by and can visit me.

It was suggested to move our love one to another facility by staff and other resident family members. Apparently, the recent change in management has led to the decline in services and staff. As one can imagine this is extremely upsetting to our love one and our entire family since the decision to move our love one into Assisted Living was a monumental process.Hopefully, corporate can address the issues quickly before many of the current residence move to another location.

The marketing and sales associate was extremely courteous from the beginning... that's where the 'honeymoon' ended. Recently, our Mother was treated with total disrespect and with total lack of dignity, with a caregiver coming into our Mother's room at 3:30 a.m. after our Mother had rung her call bell. We had an open cell phone line at the time and myself and another person jointly heard the aide unlocking the door with her key, entering Mom's room and then screaming at her... who had only rung for services at our direction: "What are you ringing for? UP! UP! UP! UP! UP!") Five times she screamed 'UP' at Mom in succession!; total disrespect in the treatment of any resident, let alone a 91 1/2 year old woman. Upon exit, she threatened our Mother saying and I quote: "I'm gonna tell the nurse there's something wrong wit' you!" frightening Mom into thinking she would be sent off to the hospital ER! This was reported to the Licensing Manager of the PA Dept. of Human Services, Norristown Office. Initially it was swept under the carpet and the Manager refused to provide the name of her supervisor. My brother and I called all over Harrisburg to find the name and we did! She was the Regional Director of the PA Dept. of Human Services, the case was reopened and the aide responsible no longer works at Glen Mills Senior Living! Prior to that, another aide came into Mom's room during a 3rd shift after Mom had rung for assistance in wheeling her to the bathroom. The aide refused service, saying instead: "You wheel yourself around all day, why can't you do it yourself?... push a little bit, rest a little bit... push a little bit, rest a little bit!" By the time Mom had made it to the bathroom and used the toilet without assistance, no wheelchair wheels were locked..NOTHING! To return to bed Mom rolled herself to the bathroom door totally out of breath with COPD and said: "Please help me! I'm out of breath! I can't breathe!" Mother told us that "the aide grabbed onto her wheelchair handles and "took off like a bat out of hell" .. making it as if 'the wind was blowing through her hair!' Does this sound like a place that you wish to entrust your loved one to??? Think again, please. Also look at 19 Reviews - Glen Mills Senior Living... check out the review: 'Worst Case Scenario' whereby a niece tells of her 'Aunt Fran' coming to Glen Mills Senior Living and within three weeks she comes down with pneumonia. No nurse or aide was even aware of it! ; Aunt Fran is then rushed to the ER and five days later... she dies! Sound like a good place to you??? Check out the niece's review for yourself. Then there was OUR OWN Father, ... Mom had come down with deadly RSV, Respiratory Syncytial Virus, with three other known cases in the building according to Mom's House Call Doctor. Nurses and aides were permitted to work sick and enter Mom and Dad's room coughing and sneezing without protection afforded by gloves and masks. Mom was rushed to the ER immediately when she came down with RSV and got the needed elevated oxygen, antibiotics and doctor's care that she needed. While Mom was in the hospital, Dad came down with it... same room, same disease 'RSV' and Glen Mills Senior Living was under Doctor's orders to keep a close watch on Dad..'keep him on a short trigger' and albuterol was prescribed to assist with his breathing because there was a known case of RSV (Mom's) in the room already. Glen Mills Senior Living NEVER gave Dad the albuterol and failed to keep the same close watch that had been done for Mom WITHOUT Doctor's orders. GLEN MILLS SENIOR LIVING FAILED OUR FATHER IN EVERY WAY though he was paying over $6K per month by contract for care! I arrived the following morning at around 10:30 A.M. after visiting Mom first in the hospital just 6 min. down the road. When I entered the lobby the nurse on duty greeted me with: "I was just getting ready to go up and look in on your dad, as soon as I'm finished with what I'm doing here, but he probably won't want to go to hospital because of all the bells and whistles going off.

I am from out of state and don't often get there with my brother to visit my mom but was there recently and I'm so happy to know that she is in a safe and loving place. Being in another state makes it hard but every time I go it's reassuring when I see the involvement from the workers with my mom. All the way from the Administrator, to management and to the Aides helping her. I leave with a smile on my face every time. Thank you Glen Mills. Great Job!

I often come here with a friend to visit his mother and I am always impressed how genuine the staff is. They're always asking what they can do to assist someone and the environment is always a loving and caring one. I have been in other communities like this and never felt the kind of warmth that I feel when I visit this one. I have also interacted with the Director of the community and also the nursing staff and I'm impressed by all.

We are pleased with the atmosphere at Glen Mills Senior Living. Most of the staff are genuinely interested in providing a caring environment for the residents and family are treated respectfully. My family is most appreciative of the patience that was shown by Laura while my mother and our family were making the decision on a residence,
