On April 13, 2018, I filled out Kentmere Nursing Care Center's online admissions form for my mother, kentmererehab.com/admiss…, who was suddenly being discharged from another facility where she was being treated. I didn't hear back "promptly" as is stated on the site, so I called Kentmere's main number for a follow-up. I told the woman who answered the phone that I had filled out the admissions form online. She asked "What form?" I explained to her, Kentmere's website has a form online for admissions. She did not know what I was talking about. I asked if I could speak with someone in admissions. She put me on hold and said "Chris has someone in his office, do you want his voicemail and he'll call you back when he's free." I left Chris a voicemail explaining my mother's situation along with my name and phone number requesting the importance of a quick call back. It is now May 9, 2018 and I have still not received a call back from anyone at Kentmere. My mother has since passed. Thankfully, she was able to get excellent care at Heartland Hospice House. I just wanted to share my experience in the event you are in the need of care for a loved one; you may want to look somewhere more reliable than Kentmere. I'm only left to wonder if Kentmere's lack of response in my family's time of need was a telling sign of the care she would have received at their facility.
This place deserves zero stars, however google requires at least one star. Do not send ANYONE that you care about to this place. They neglect their residents. They have zero issue in misleading you about your loved one's health and well-being. The fact that they do not provide basic phones in the room of the residents should be the very first red flag. Beware of the 5 star reviews, these are most likely falsified as well.
Loving this place my grandma stays there and when I visit the staff is ery pleasant, caring and respectful where my grandma never wants to come out she says the food they feed her is the best and all the young ladies she has come in contact with have so much patience so I give them five stars keep up the good work
They took care of my Loved one the best they could. After 2 try’s at different facilities this one seem to make the most effort and semi-progress as far as therapy went. The nursing staff did an okay job. They knew my loved one was a fall risk so they rearranged their room to try to limit them from hitting their head if they fell trying to get out of bed again. They even put padded cushions next to their bed in the event they did fall again. The only thing I will say is why not just put bed alarms on their bed? Every facility says they don’t use restraints but call me crazy that isn’t a restraint. It’s an alarm that alerts the nurse someone is going to hurt themselves if no one comes to their aid... but I’m guessing they don’t use these b/c the alarm would be ignored and the patient would fall anyways.
Kentmere is an amazing, big and beautiful facility. I wasn't shocked to hear that so many of their residents have lived there for over a decade, as they do not want to leave! The Kentmere staff truly care and make sure every resident gets the attention they need - and there are always several activities going on, too! If they can't help you themselves, they will direct you to the best person who can. Chris Collins, their director of admissions, is truly an honest, caring man, and will guide you and your family in the right direction.. Highly recommend.
The staff is very professional. The place is clean and well run. The food is good. The people that run the physical therapy were very good. Due to the help my aunt received at this facility she was able to fully recover. Words can not express my appreciation to the staff at this rehab facility.
This facility is looks lovely to the eye, but after talking with the staff. They are short staffed CNA's on the floors, using nurses to work as Cna's. They cant accomodate special diets, my aunt was sent the wrong diet 10/16 days she was there. Some of the nursing staff appeared to have little medical knowledge to answer our questions. Staff noted standing in hallway gossiping as 4-5 lights were ringing.
