WORST DUMP FOR PATIENTS EVER! To leave a loved one here is an indication of how much you hate the person. This is like a1940's HORROR MOVIE! I stayed here for four hours only because I couldn't get transportation to my home at midnight on a Friday. Cabs will not respond to this location to pick anyone up. This place is the equivalent of a LUNATIC ASYLUM! In he four hours that I spent in their lobby, I was accosted by a nearly naked man in the hallway, listened to a woman making blood-curling screams every 3 minutes throughout the night. ( ONE NURSE MADE THE REMARK THAT THE PATIENT NEEDED A "ONE ON ONE".) I Could not get anyone to help me make a phone call because my phone died the minute I entered the place/no cellphone reception. Truthfully, I was in fear for my safety! It's in a bad neighborhood and should not advertised as a place in which to convalesce after open heart surgery. Shame on Thunderbird Hospital for even allowing someone to choose this place and dump me here. I have been in numerous post surgical care facilities and they were a "hospital" setting, with modern equipment, a bathroom, clean and insect free, and QUIET. Coronado has large grasshoppers and other insects walking in the front door. They haven't renovated, no matter what the AD says. They have no personal showers, just a TOILET IN A CLOSET (NO TOILET PAPER), NO SINK. and COMMUNAL SHOWER somewhere. 1940's beds that are so uncomfortable and not adjustable. I got the impression that this a a drug rehab center or "street person" rest home, not for serious post surgical care at all! I can't grade it lower than one star for anything, because they don't have any negative star ratings to click on. My friends came to visit and I had already checked myself out at 3 AM. They not only couldn't find my name in their records, but they said it was horrible and they only saw the lobby. If they could have seen the patient rooms and "bathroom-closet", they would really have been shocked. How this place can qualify for post-surgical recuperation in impossible to comprehend. This is 10 stars lower than being put in a prison! Noisy, dirty, bug-infested, and not the place for peace and quiet at all. Medications are left on the counter in the lobby where anyone can get to them. If I hadn't asked for my "follow up paperwork with all the medical information I need and my prescriptions, I would not have received them prior to leaving this place. If any prescriptions had been refilled, I did not receive them at all to take with me. And, the cherry on top of this was a "nurse" who was racially biased and didn't like "white people".....so ignored me completely.
