Community Insights
This detailed information was obtained directly from the Executive Director at Clemson Heritage Senior Living via email on Feb. 23, 2024.
Overview of Staff and Training
Our nursing department is managed by a nurse for occasional oversight, with leadership from a wellness director and coordinator. Care is provided by caregivers and med techs, who also dispense medications to residents. Each employee undergoes a 3-day training program, and med techs receive an additional 3 days of hands-on training with the medication cart, taught by our facility.
Safety and Well-being Measures
We have implemented a pendant system for residents to call for assistance. Rounding and checks are tailored to individual resident needs. For residents with wandering concerns, we offer a transition to memory care for increased staff oversight. Our facility does not have a security officer on duty or a security system.
Transition Support Services
While we do not offer resources or support services for transitions into the community, we provide access to mental health providers to assist with any anxieties related to the move.
Transportation Services
Transportation to medical appointments within a 20-mile radius is available on Tuesdays through Thursdays, depending on prior requests.
Dining Experience
Meals are served in the main dining room at 7:30 am, 11:30 am, and 4:30 pm. A weekly calendar of upcoming meals is available.
Resident Complaint Process
Residents can bring concerns to the relevant department head. Unresolved issues escalate to my assistant, Bailey, then to me, and finally are documented in a formal grievance kept on file.
Cost of Living
Rates range from $2100-$2200 for independent living, $3495-$3695 for assisted living, and $4195-$4995 for memory care. Assisted and memory care rates are all-inclusive, except for medication or physician services. Independent living residents must purchase a separate meal plan at $450 per month.
Communication with Residents' Families
Families receive updates on specific concerns or changes. Facility-wide concerns, like COVID, are communicated via email. During a COVID case, all visitors must wear masks for 14 days, regardless of vaccination status.
Short-term or Respite Stays
We offer respite stays based on availability, with rates between $117-$124 per day for a minimum of 14 days.
Pet Policy
Our community is pet-friendly, with a $500 non-refundable deposit and requirements for current vaccinations, a weight limit of 25 lbs, and the resident's ability to care for the pet independently.
Waitlist Information
Currently, there is a waiting list of 11 for independent living and 2 for larger assisted living rooms.
Vaccination Services
Residents can receive vaccines during clinics provided by our pharmacy or utilize a local pharmacy independently.
Aging in Place
Residents can age in place up to the need for skilled nursing care, which we do not provide. We collaborate with local hospice companies as needed.
