Community Insights
This detailed information was obtained directly from the Assistant Administrator at Careone At Wayne via email on Oct. 18, 2023.
Welcome to Our Community
We currently do not have a waiting list for our community. We are staffed with a Director of Wellness (an RN), an additional nurse, a medication technician, and home health aids that assist with our resident’s daily living activities, such as bathing, toileting, dressing, etc.
Admission Process
Prior to admission, we like to meet our new potential residents so we are able to appropriately place them in our community, dependent on how much memory support is needed. Upon move in, our nurses complete an assessment in which our resident’s are evaluated on how much assistance is needed, diet, diagnoses, as well as a skin assessment. We work closely with the therapy team to ensure the best safety measures are in place for each our residents. This may include using a hospital bed to make transfers, the use of floor mats in case of falls. We have a call bell system in each apartment, located in the bathrooms and bedrooms, as well as common areas.
Dining Experience
Our dining experience includes a dining room where we encourage our residents to participate for each meal, we offer an appetizer and 3 choices of entrees. Our dining staff keep track of every resident’s diet to ensure they are eating the most appropriate meals. Part of our transition for new residents is a program we call “Story of My Life,” in which our recreation staff interview the family and resident on their history as well as current interests thus providing some common interests and allow us to assist in finding a group for the new residents to enjoy their meal with.
Transportation and Pet Policy
We have a community bus that brings residents to community outings, however for appointments we set up transport with an outside company which is private pay for the resident/family. We are a pet friendly community with the proper vaccines, we have dog therapy every Friday.
Respite Stays and Communication
We offer respite stays which lasts 30-60 days, which is based on the apartment of choice, price varies on sq footage, and care level. Our nursing staff communicates with families often, any changes or questions are always communicated. Myself as well as my Director of Wellness are happy to provide families with our cell phone numbers to keep in communication at all times.

Review Summary
The following is an AI generated summary of the reviews of the community from across the web.
The reviews for the health care facility in northern New Jersey present a mixed picture, with many praising the quality of care, the professionalism and friendliness of the staff, and the facility's cleanliness. Positive experiences highlight the facility's ability to provide excellent rehabilitation services, with specific staff members receiving gratitude for their dedication and care. The physical therapy team, in particular, is often mentioned for their exceptional work.
However, there are significant concerns raised by some reviewers regarding the facility's handling of COVID-19 vaccinations among staff, with reports of unvaccinated employees being allowed to work. This has led to worries about the potential for disease spread within the facility. Additionally, there are complaints about the quality of the food, and some instances of poor patient care, including reports of patients being left unattended, ignored call buttons, and a lack of communication about patient care plans and visitation policies.
Other negative experiences include dissatisfaction with the facility's response to emergencies, unprofessional staff behavior, and a perceived lack of adequate staffing to meet patient needs. Despite these issues, there are also reports of the facility going above and beyond in certain aspects, such as sorting out insurance issues and providing a welcoming and engaging environment for both patients and their families.
Overall, while many have had positive experiences and would recommend the facility for its rehab services and caring staff, there are serious concerns that potential clients might want to consider, especially regarding staff vaccination policies and some instances of inadequate patient care.
