Brackenville Center is located in the heart of Hockessin Delaware right near the Pennsylvania state line. The majority of our residents come from the Christiana and Wilmington Hospitals for short term rehab and from the local Delaware community for long term care. We accept a wide variety of insurance providers for rehab and we are a licensed medicaid facility too. Following all CMS and State Regulations. We are a five stare CMS facility. Welcoming long term and short referrals every day. If you would like more information about the Brackenville center especially with regards to how we are keeping your loved ones safe during corona-virus 2019 please do not hesitate to call at 302.234.5420.

The atmosphere at Brackenville is very inviting. The entryway is decorated beautifully and every staff member I encountered was pleasant. During my visit, a staff member knocked on the door to pop in and ask the patient I was visiting how she was doing or if she needed anything. The person who delivered her lunch also asked her if there was anything else she could bring. My general impression walking through the hall was everything looked and smelled clean. I was left with a very good opinion of this facility!

My mother has been in for rehab after losing some mobility from cancer treatment. As with anywhere, there are good people and good things and not so good. The one thing that impressed me is the responsiveness of the people and management when the not so good occured. And that is why I would give them 5-stars. Covid and being short staffed is very difficult situation. This is particularly difficult due to the amount of care some of the people require. The management and other people we interacted with are really working hard to maintain quality care and they continue to make improvements. They have been seeking feedback from my mom during her entire stay. She will be getting out soon. And we will be happy for that. And I hope that the positive attitude and always improving hard work continue.

Please do better with the urine smell. The urine bedding should be removed from the hallways. When a visitor leaves the facility, their entire clothing smells of urine. Apart from the urine, it is a pleasant experience.

My 91 year old mother had fractured her tail bone and was in rehab for 6 weeks. We chose this facility for the PT. She's back to walking with her walker and is home now. The PT was great. The nurses were on top of her care and meds and coordinated with PT to make her rehab journey easier especially in the initial days. Like all facilities, they are filling more CNA positions. I definitely had my favorites. I was there most everyday and staff worked with me when I had a concern or question. There are lots of activities for the patients should you want to participate. We sat out on their nice outside covered patio which was often.

Our son has been there for over a year after a brain hemorrhage that left him paralyzed on his left side. He has been left in soiled diapers for over 2 hours. He does not get his teeth brushed and often does not receive his bi-weekly showers. His blood pressure gets checked once a month. We are not pleased with the lack of CNA’s although the ones he has are good. Do not put your loved ones here.
