I came upon it through a memory care meeting last January. At the time it looked like a nice facility, not a long corridor of rooms, it was clean and I tucked it into my memory bank under What If? Next step?Sooner came rather than later, I looked around and zeroed back to Arden Courts. My husband was a resident from October till this past March. The business end of the staff was exceptional, the aides were caring and considerate, and the nursing staff : Chastity , Trish and Evelyn couldn't have been more helpful. There is entertainment, movies, games, outside areas, birthday celebrations and enough to keep your loved one busy. Brett has an amazing way of reaching out to everyone, calling them by name; really feeling loved.I visited almost daily and NEVER did I see anything to alarm me. They felt like family. It's not easy to take this step, I like to say I wore guilt like a shroud , but in the end it was the best decision I made.Oh yes, delicious chocolate cookies in the lobby. Thanks ,Sharon
If you're in the sad and difficult position of having to find a place for someone with memory issues, you couldn't find a better place than Arden Court. Truly sincere, genuine staff with the best attitude and sense of humor and compassion for the pain and craziness and unexpected joy encompassed within the ordeal of memory issues. The lack of helpful comparative information on elderly care resources out there is frustrating, so I'm hoping to build up a list of excellent places I would recommend for people who will be looking for these services.Arden Court would be at the top of my list for my experience with how deeply kind and thoughtful these folks were to my family member and to my family. Like every other memory care place, these services are not inexpensive, but if you can afford the $6900/month, you will be comforted to know that the care they provide is beyond amazing.
Many times have I frequented Arden Courts of Farmington, and every experience has been 5 out of 5 stars! The staff is friendly, competent, and engaging; the venue itself is well dressed and manicured, clean, and tidy. I always look forward to the yummy beverages and cookies in the lobby. Arden Courts is a warm and inviting place that makes you feel taken care of and listened to. Happy staff & happy residents! Conveniently located just down the road from Westfarms Mall & Trader Joes (2 of my favorite places!) and about 4 miles from West Hartford Center.
Arden is always hosting fantastic educational seminars geared specifically to the needs of those living with memory-loss. Staff is extremely well trained and helpful. All residents are encouraged to participate in programs and feel the freedom of walking around in a park like setting. A must see!
When visited over year ago for a program with refreshments, I found Arden Courts to be very clean with friendly staff. That was actually soon after my husband was diagnosed by our primary doctor. Since then husband has been home with my caring for him and only 15 hours a week from Companions & Homemakers. Now must find a home for husband that's safe as he has progressed to more than moderate dementia. If feasible cost wise we will consider Arden as his residence.
