$110.16 was never billed to my mother, and Apple Rehab never disclosed what the $110.16 is supposedly for. It is cruel that after paying over $12,000 a month every month from what was left of my mom's life savings, Apple Rehab all of a sudden claimed my mom owes $110.16 for something. Why didn't Apple Rehab bill my mom for it 9 months ago? Why won’t Apple give the requested details as to what this money is for? Why didn't Apple Rehab just credit this amount, as a courtesy and act of kindness, in light of the fact my mom paid every &12,000 bill on time without complaint depleting her lifetime savings, and my mom contracted COVID19 while under Apple Rehab's care?

My father went there ostensibly for rehab. He was put on a cocktail of meds. He got very little rehab and because this occurred recently during covid lockdown, no one could visit. This man went from living independently to at times being disoriented and restrained. He became covid positive and was transferred to acute care. Unless you can be at the bedside and advocate, DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONE TO APPLE REHAB.
Apple Rehab in Old Saybrook is an outstanding facility! Everyone is extremely kind. They provide my parents with exceptional care! I feel so fortunate to know that I can rest easy knowing that my parents are in such capable hands. My sincere gratitude goes out to each and every staff member there! Thank you!
My mother has been at Apple for 8 Months. It was not an easy decision, no one wants to Live in a Nursing Home Long Term. It was not easy for her to leave her home of many years.. The Nurses, Aides, Therapists and The Administration are all so nice and patient with her, she settled in quickly. She has made many friends, there are always activities that she can choose to go to. And being a fussy eater, we were worried about the food..but we were so pleased that the food is wonderful… an impressive menu with wide weekly variety. When she has had medical problems they take care of it immediately...Without the Patience and Caring of the Nurses, Aides and Therapists it wouldn’t work, they are All So Wonderful..We couldn’t be happier.
I can't believe there isn't more negative reviews of Apple Rehab Old Saybrook. If you love your relative, DO NOT bring them here. Long story short, my father had to spend several weeks in a rehab facility and this was the only place in town with an open bed. My father is in his late 50's and completely coherent which made them uncomfortable. First, it took the doctor or APRN, whatever she was, almost 24 hours to see him when he first arrived. He was receiving a cocktail of pills that he was just told to take. When he complained of pain, he was given percocet which was NOT prescribed to him by his surgeon because he is ALLERGIC to Tylenol (Percocet is literally Tylenol). He explained this to the nurse and she said, and I quote, "it will be fine, just take it." So my dad whipped out his phone and showed her that if you're allergic to Tylenol you can't take Percocet. She then said something to the effect of "why can't you just take what we give you and make this easy like all my other patients do?!" and she stormed out. Well, very upset and in pain, my father called me. I rushed there and called his surgeon who was on call, and he was shocked and disgusted. When I got there, the doctor told me "your father isn't the only patient in this facility, so stop acting like he's my main concern." Needless to say, I flipped out. We yelled at each other in the hallway, all because they were trying to force my dad to take something he is allergic to! I called Gladeview and told them the situation and they said they unfortunately were not surprised as this happens weekly. The very next morning I had him moved to Gladeview and made it known that we were not paying them a dime for their "care" and that lawyers would be involved. He did not have help getting out of bed or going to the bathroom, not once! This makes me wonder what they're doing to the poor patients who aren't as alert as my father, or don't have advocates who live in town. Since he is deathly allergic to Tylenol, are they feeding others something that they're allergic to? I can't stress this enough, do not send a loved one here.
